Baby sleep

First daily feed

Hi all, how are you managing your first feed of the day? Do you get up, het LO changed dressed and wait for them to ask for a feed? Or are you giving them a feed upon waking. I was doing the latter, often offering it at 7 to help keep naps/feeds roughly the same time each day but as my LO still wakes in the night to feed, she doesn't seem hungry at that time and often has only half the bottle. This used to be fine until her next feed window but the last few days she's been hungry an hour after that first feed. Shall I just wait until she asks instead of giving her one as soon as she wakes up?

Newborn trapped wind

My 12 day old all of a sudden seems to have lots of trapped gas, especially after every feed making loud grunting noises and not relaxing. We are struggling to burp her during and after the feeds and tried lots of positions. Its making her really uncomfortable to sleep and I just feel awful because I want to relieve it - she doesnt spit up but does gulp her bottle quite fast so we are trying to pace feed but maybe she is getting too much air? Using mam bottles for reference but does anyone have any other ideas? Also how much time can I spend moving her legs around, conicous she is so little and dont want to irritate her belly even more

Underweight baby

My baby is 19weeks, and has been dropping centiles from 25% to now officially underweight (just below 2nd centile). She’s breastfed, and I have followed every advice on earth (hind milk, offer breasts more often etc) she’s just not interested in feeding and when she drinks she never finishes the full boob let alone move to the next one. My supply is all good in fact I have a lot of milk I just stock up the freezer. Anyway we’re moving to formula after 10 weeks of persevering with breastfeeding. Doc says she needs to be having at least 700ml. We have tried formula twice before and every time after two days we just go back to the boob because she’ll either not take it or drink 1oz in like 6 hours. No underlying health issues. Went today for a blood draw and there was nothing to draw as she was not hydrated! Any advice on how to help her have that 700ml in 24h because I am genuinely depressing over this.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding help plz!!

I am in the beginning stages of milk production which I know means I’m producing a lot so my supply can regulate. But, when I started breast feeding I was in a lot a lot of pain and I do not love being in pain. So I started pumping and bottle feeding instead of nursing. I quickly found that I was making somewhere between. 48-50oz EXTRA daily and my boobs were constantly engorged. Anyway. I weaned off of the pump and started nursing again and baby’s latch is great, but my flow is now super fast and the spray lasts for the entire feed. I can pull her off and stop the spray but as soon as she latches again it’s back. Even if I hand express to get it to stop. She’s been choking on it and spitting half of it out and the gas she gets from it makes her spit up like 3-5 times for every other feed(ish). So I’ve had to nurse for two minutes, unlatch to catch breath, nurse two more minutes, unlatch, burp, nurse two more, break, nurse two, burp, and so on. Does anyone have ANY advice for slowing my flow or is it something she’s just gonna have to get used to? Or should I bite the bullet and go bottle feeding again. I just really don’t wanna pump anymore.
