Breastfeeding

Transition from breast to bottle

Little one is almost 10 months. He is strictly breast-fed. Bottles were introduced in the beginning, but stopped due to complications that we thought the bottles were causing. They were not introduced again, though after the complications were resolved. He will not take a pacifier or a bottle. He just chews on them. However, a bottle is starting to be needed for my sanity (he’s a bitter) and for other reasons. Please help with any possible ways I can get him to take a bottle.

Baby sleep

Help

Had my second baby at the end of feb. We’ve had nearly 4 weeks where he won’t settle at all in his moses. I understand fourth trimester he needs close contact. But even if I can get him to have an hour in the moses a night for me that would be something because I’m struggling with lack of sleep and don’t trust myself to cosleep with being a heavy sleeper. Any tips and advice on how to help a baby settle into a moses? I have tried most things but thought I’d see if anyone had any different tips?

TIA

Crying baby

I just had my second baby almost 3 weeks ago.. he came 18 days early. he nonstop cries unless you’re holding him. Even at night, he will not sleep by himself. He cries and cries until I cosleep with him (which I do not like doing but I feel like it’s my only option). I already struggle with PPD from my first pregnancy and feel like his crying is going to drive me into it even further. I told his DR yesterday and she just brushed it off. I didn’t tell her we cosleep because I know how frowned upon it is but wondering if I should? Or any recommendations.

I’ve tried swaddling him, rolling up a blanket and putting it around him like a barrier (not near his face), won’t keep a paci in. He is always fed with a clean diaper

Commuting

Hi all, people with long commutes, when are you starting to turn stuff down?

I work from home the majority of the time but commute to Manchester once a week, sometimes twice, which is around a 2 hour commute not including time to get to/from stations. I don’t mind this at all and like going in as I get to catch up with my team.

My work has been really good with my pregnancy and it’s my choice whether to go in / stay home. My question is how long would you wait until not committing to the full commute? I’m 27 weeks at the moment and happy to still go in once a week. Generally I’ve said yes to pre-Christmas commitments (I have workshops at 29 weeks, 31 weeks and a meal at 32 weeks) but have said I’ll flag closer to the time if anything changes.

I’m more cautious about post-Christmas commitments though and someone has suggested a client lunch in January, timing tbc, but I’ll be at least 35 weeks. Do you think this is too late to say provisionally yes? Am I mad for thinking I might still be able to get around at that point?

Pregnancy scans

TW: After 20 week scan

So after my 20 week scan, I was referred to Fetal Medicine and they did another ultrasound. Ultrasound showed fluid in ventricle and half cerebellum. I asked for an MRI and the results were not promising and was told the abnormalities in brain will impact the baby in many ways. From delayed development to breathing problems. The results were severe and I have opted for termination. I am 25 weeks and will be 26 weeks on day of termination. I am emotionally exhausted but trying to see if anyone can guide me how will this termination look like. I know that they will induce me but will I get to see my baby? What does the entire process look like?

Thank you for all the inputs in advance.
