I am very lucky to say that with all three of my pregnancies I did not have any morning sickness at all. I was just a very fortunate woman for that. My sensitivity though, was another story.. During my first pregnancy, (as a teenager) I was very much depressed, the father and I were absolutely not ready for a child and we ended splitting up. For 6 months, I was unable to tel my family about my pregnancy until they found out one day. I was 18 and had just graduated high school at the time. 9 years later, I am married and have a good husband at home to support me!
My first trimester was extremely hard. I lost 20 lbs I had to quit my job because my body was so weak to the point where my husband would have to force me to drink some water so I had something to throw up. I basically just couldn’t eat anymore it wouldn’t go past me chewing. I’m now 19 weeks and have been over it for at least 4 weeks now. Extremely blessed that I’m finally having cravings and keeping down food finally started gaining some weight and growing a baby bump. 💕
I had hyperemesis gravidarum it’s when you experience excessive vomiting and need to go to the hospital to get an IV because you can’t keep anything down. I had it with all 3 of my pregnancies it’s horrible hopefully you don’t have that my OBGYN did give me some pills which helped I went from throw up all day and night to only about 2-5 times a day.

With my first I couldn’t eat meat either only fruit and he doesn’t like meat lol he loves fruit. My second one I couldn’t even see chicken if I ate chicken and it had bone it was horrible. I only craved bean and cheese burritos very bland food.
I juuuust ended my first trimester it was very rough I really feel for all you other mommies. I was so sick it really threw me for a loop, especially going back and forth between being extremely hungry and then extremely nauseous right after. I was previously a plant based vegan but had to break my diet because some days the only thing I could eat was saltines. You just gotta do what is best for your body at this time. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for taking the time you need to be at your strongest or most comfortable. ❤️❤️👋🏽
I was nauseas up to the morning I gave birth. Threw up that morning. Only one thing helped through the whole pregnancy and I was judged soooo negatively for it - but my baby and I are healthy and happy so everyone else can SUCK IT!
I was nauseous throughout my pregnancy- literally threw up 4 hours before labour! 😂 They say morning sickness which is super misleading, as for some it’s literally all day. I too worked during this overwhelming time and wish I took it easier on myself! Great post though, very honest! All worth it in the end ❣
First trimester is def the hardest thanks for the post def me this morning
I was lucky no morning sickness at all just bad heart burn the whole pregnancy
Yep. I was struggling very hard during my first trimester and was not prepared being this is my first pregnancy. No one prepared me for just how bad it could be.
💜💜💜💜

Me too! I was so sick all 3 pregnancies! 😐🖓
🙌🏼🙌🏼 I had hyperemesis gravidarum throughout my whole pregnancy. I threw up until his delivery day ... it was so brutal and raw. I had countless days lying on the tile floor of our bathroom, or laying in bed unable to move or speak after vomiting 40-50x a day. After so many trips to the ER, and trying different medications, I found a combination of medications and IV fluids that helped me get through the rest of it. Even after it all, the ugliness of sickness and missing out on almost a year of being able to engage with friends and family, Finn is the best thing I’ve ever done. I hold onto that for the next one... he/she will be worth it. But it’s so hard what you’re doing mommas, hard and beautiful. Solidarity my friends 💕

I had terrible nausea for the first trimester with both pregnancies but never actually threw up. Still, it was brutal and smells were the worst. A co-worker would have instant bacon at her desk every morning and it would make me so queasy. Another time, I was waiting for the subway and I could smell a man’s cologne from several feet away as if he was standing next to me! Hunger also made me nauseous. Hang in there!

Omigosh same! I couldn’t brush my teeth with toothpaste that smelled, deodorant, shampoo, anything with a smell I got nauseated.
My first baby I had morning sickness from weeks 7 to 20. Constant throwing up. I couldn’t keep anything down. It finally ceased and was replaced with awful heartburn, especially at night. My daughter was born with a full head of hair.

Just message you
My first trimester was horrendous, I had to be put on anti sickness tablets taking them 3 times a day. I’m now 15 weeks and still going through the sickness BUT it is better and I’m only down to one pill in the morning. Fingers crossed it goes away completely very soon as I’m running low on the tablets 😂

Beth, I used medication and a medicine pump the whole way through to 42 weeks. Don’t give up, and do what you need to do to survive!
I appreciate this photo. Even though I didn't get sick at all during my pregnancy it's still such a process and takes such a toll. We really are magnificent us women.
I'm glad I'm not the only one 😩 I'm 10 weeks and I've been sick daily since I found out. Itll hit me out of nowhere but its really wearing me out! I wasnt nearly this sick with my first. Its been so rough and I'm hoping to get some relief soon!
I was sick with all 4 of my kids all 9 months every day.
Dude, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Ofcourse not as well thought out as you but something along the lines lol No one told me about this. All the nice pregnancy announcement picture in social media said nothing about this, not even in the caption. I also think a big part of this is understanding that you can love your baby and be excited and be on your way to be a great mom despite the fact that u felt so bad about feeling so bad at first (at least I am hoping it’s only at first). Have a great day moms.
Thank goodness you are out the other side of the first trimester. I don’t throw up but I have constant nausea, exhaustion, headaches and very low mood. I have a busy job, a 2 year old and a supportive husband but I’m struggling. Only 7+3
I appreciate and applaud your honestly! Yes, it’s an absolute blessing and the end result is the Most fulfilling thing ever however on that journey it gets tough at times. I’m well too familiar with the experience. It’s not easy to ask for help, but you have to learn to accept it (for yourself and the baby).
This picture brings me back to my moments of pregnancy hell. Thank you for posting this. Every time people would ask me about my pregnancy, I always felt like people looked at me like I was an alien and not the cute E.T. kind. I talked about how miserable I was and doubted my womanhood. Just like you, I had to keep reminding myself that in a few months it will all cease. I’m not ill, I’m growing a beautiful tiny human inside of me. My body isn’t failing me, it’s doing what it is supposed to be doing. I used to get so annoyed with women that would constantly rave about their glowing pregnancy, like they’re purposely rubbing it in my hungry, sour, puked stained face-but they weren’t. I threw up everything including water and the tiny pieces of lettuce that I was able to keep down for a few minutes. My hunger made me so mean, and if it wasn’t for my weakened state, I would have been throwing a massive tantrum. Thanks to a miraculous drug that I had to take throughout my whole pregnancy,

I was able to feel somewhat human again. And after I looked at my alien looking (the cute E.T. kind) newborn that still had goo from my birthing canal, I breathe a sigh of relief and dream about a big fat juicy steak replacing the void left by my tiny human that I just popped out...same time I whisper in to the universe that it was all worth it and that I would do it again if I had to! Thanks again for showing us that it’s not always glamorous, but it IS always worth it :)
I feel this picture. I’m in my fourth month and I’m still going through the morning sickness the only thing that has changed is that I have a bit more energy. Still feeling sick and throwing up but now it’s mostly in the morning. Heartburn kicks in in the middle of the night but I’m surviving with tums…..can’t wait to hold this baby in my arms….6 more mints left to go….praying the nausea will subside 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm the same way. I have hg, I used to throw up 10 times a day. Now its 4-5. Its exhausting and really taking a toll on me mentally. Anyone have suggestions as to what I can do? I'm on pills. A ton of em. But still feel like crap. :-(
Appreciate this so much! I threw up 3-5 X a day for 5 months, had super strong aversions to everything that wasn’t mashed potatoes 🙄 the whole time worried I’d lose the baby because of a previous loss. Thankfully all my meetings were on zoom, so I could just turn my camera and audio off to puke and then pop right back on!
Does anyone have quite bad anxiety? I had a miscarriage in June just gone and I’m now 6 weeks pregnant and not feeling as sick as I was with my 2 year old? I’ve had a reassurance scan and heartbeat is there?? Anyone help with anxiety xxx
Thank you so much for sharing you story your not alone however you are a trooper! I haven’t been able to work!!! Had my first midwife appt yesterday I’ve lost a stone and a half! Scary stuff especially when my Bmi is still high lol 😂 no one speaks about have bad it can be .. they just assume it will go away in your second trimester … and you hope it will but scared it won’t! The fear of it not going makes me more sick!!! I’m 9 weeks 3 days and sick daily popping the antisickness tablets!!! Women are so so strong stronger than I ever imagined
