Symptoms... N is for NAUSEA 🤢

Hello you 🙂

Here's another in our series of symptom snippets, lovingly hand-crafted to fit into your peri/menopausal attention span 🙂

💥THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE LETTER N💥

N is for NAUSEA

Nausea is a common symptom in the menopause and can be caused by several factors.

Fluctuating oestrogen levels can be a trigger for nausea, not unlike morning sickness in pregnancy, deep joy! Falling oestrogen levels also affect the digestion that can stress the liver, which can also cause nausea.

Low blood sugar and dehydration can also cause nausea, so you need to take measures to stay hydrated and maintain your blood sugar levels. Eat healthy snacks and limit/exclude high sugar foods to avoid steep fluctuations in blood sugar. Some people find that avoiding spicy and fatty foods can help too.

If you’re particularly affected in the morning, try removing anything with a strong odour from the bedroom before you go to sleep and crack open a window a little bit. Fatigue and lack of sleep can make your nausea worse… In the morning, try not to rush! That means take your time getting up, and perhaps try eating plain toast, or crackers, and some find ginger tea helps (although that’s anecdotal!).

Did we already say keep hydrated? Yes, well we’ll say It again - keep hydrated! You’ll thank you later…

So, after waiting an hr over the said appointment time 🤦‍♀️, the Dr said yes, I can switch from the copper coil to the Mirena and oestrogen, explained there may be some settling bleeding for maybe 3-6 months but would settle. Just have to wait for an appointment to have the change over done..yay!! 🙋‍♀️

Thankyou!
As soon as they have a face to face appointment available, she said there may be a little wait though. I can live with that, I'm just relieved that I can have it 😁
