Symptoms...B is for BREAST HEALTH 🍨🍨

Hello you 🙂

Here's another of our quick posts on some of the more common symptoms of peri/menopause... Perfect if you've got a ten second concentration window (thanks menopause!) 😁

💥This post is brought to you by the letter B💥

B is for BREAST HEALTH...

For many women, this is a big concern as we age. There has been a lot of scaremongering and inaccurate information around the risk of breast cancer and HRT. That’s not to be dealt with here in this post, but we wanted to mention it, because people often think of that first when talking about breast health and the menopause. We'll be posting about HRT and the *real* facts about risk later. So, now that’s out of the way…

Breast and nipple tenderness is a common complaint in peri/menopause. And yes, it’s once again the decrease in oestrogen that can set it off. Dehydration and constipation can make matters worse, so please make sure you drink enough water each day. Avoid tea, coffee, fizzy and sugary drinks – that can help too.

Of course we’re all checking ourselves regularly for bumps and irregularities (we are aren’t we? Yes? Good…), but when was the last time you went and got properly measured and fitted for a bra? Seriously, do it! Our breasts change in size, shape, and density as we age, and what worked for you in your 30s is probably not really cutting it once you hit your 50s. Just saying – go buy a good bra, and you can thank us later 🙂

If you do notice any changes, please don’t hesitate to go and get checked out by your doctor, especially if you have any nipple discharge. It’s probably nothing, but go get checked out!

🙂❤

I totally agree Sharon ! Xx … Ladies please check your breasts regularly and don’t miss your mammograms .

Apparently 1 million Ladies missed their mammograms during lockdown … that equates to a large number of ladies walking around with Breast Cancer without realising.

I found a lump last November after having a clear mammogram 15 months earlier … I caught the breast cancer early and it had not spread to my lymphnodes.
I can’t stress the importance of keeping on top of this xxxx

Spiralling - hormonal imbalance

Hiya,

I was feeling v rundown & tired for some time & had bloods taken back in January & was diagnosed with anaemia & given tablets. I don’t feel like they helped at all & they were just for 3 months & feel as tired/run down as ever.

At the time, it came up in conversation with my Mum that I was having irregular periods (I have a tracker app & consistently for well over a year). What once lasted 5 days max & came every 28 days was now 10 days max & every 19 days…..The Doctor did ask about periods but seemed more concerned if if they were heavy or sore.

Flash forward 3 months & I call up re medication to stop periods on holiday & just mentioned the irregularity again & the (male this time) Doctor books me in for hormonal imbalance blood tests. I’ve been Googling & they can be for thyroid issues (which the bloods in Jan also covered), infertility (👶🏼👶🏼), PCOS (no) or pre/peri menopause (Doc already counted it out as too young).

I’m just curious if anyone else has had these kinds of tests & what came of it?

Menstrual cycle syncing experience?

Hi all, read the book In The Flo from Alisa Vitti and feel like I've lived in the dark for most of my adult life 😯
Anyone has experience with cycle syncing your life (food, exercise, planning schedule etc) with your period phases? Did it help you in any way - feel healthier, happier, lose weight, get less PMS... ?
It feels like something everyone should be taught at school but no women I directly spoke to knows anything about it...

Period missing and no postive tests any ideas?

Last period was Feb 12th-16th. No signs of period coming. I’m on cycle day 40 now. My period cycles are usually 28-33 days. Now it’s currently predicting 34 day cycles. Regardless isn’t 40 days extra late should I go to the doctor?
