For me, the brain fog was one thing, then something to go o the ‘Why did nobody tell me??!!’ category was the heavy, heavy periods, and I mean rushing to the loo every 45 minutes with all the super plus tampons and pads. As if that wasn’t enough, the completely erratic timing of my cycle - anything from 11 to 36 days made me feel like an unprepared teenager all over again.
I have discovered that alcohol, some types more than others, is not my friend and will lead to a hot and sleepless night and finally (although not exhaustively!) the low, low mood, dare I say verging on depression, for the first half of the month.
I have started down the bio identical HRT route couple with a lot of talking to good, close girlfriends. A good talk is a life saver.
How about you? 🥰

Tina, I’m so sorry to hear that. I can relate to feeling extremely emotional for a prolonged period of time. It sounds to me as though you are in a terrible place. Have you asked for help?
Sending you hugs in the meantime. X

Hello there so am I! I'm losing tons of hair so scared. I get my periods every 4-5 months now wish they would go away!!

Hey Gloria,
I’m sorry you’re scared and having a rough time.
I have a friend who also lost a lot of hair as she went through Menopause. She chose to take HRT which helped her enormously and she has lovely hair again now. It was all down to a dramatic reduction in hormone production.
Have you spoken to a doctor or anyone alternative?
I hope you are well. X

I'm postmenopausal struggling with hot flush, anxiety and depression

I find the HRT does also help but it isn’t an overnight magic wand and even with all the right diet, exercise and positive habits, there are still some crushing days. But that is just life. And good friends keep me on solid ground, thank heavens.

There are alternatives to HRT though if that is not the route you wish to go down.
The podcast Real Menopause Talk offers solutions every Tuesday as well as other women’s experiences and stories which also go out on Thursdays.
Let me know what you find.

Hello! Went into pre-menopause about 5 years ago. Heavy non stop periods turned out to be fibroids. tried uterine ablasion, which didn't work. Fibroids came back. Doc finally said let's take it! That was 5 days ago. Still in recovery. I am hoping no more symptoms arise as I'm told a hysterectomy puts you immediately into menopause.

Hej ladies I'm 47 and i have everything you say.I did'nt have my pieriod over a yesr.A couple month's ago it came back bleeding really bad for 7 days and it's so smelly if i was rotting from the inside.Mood's 50 different a day most of the time i'm sad crying no strenght to do anything.Plus everyday problem's and i keep it all inside myself.Feel like i'm gona Explode i've lost a lot of wieght. When is it gonna go away

I had very heavy period from 36 onwards linked with thyroid issues so was put on a pill which stopped them and my periods completely. Get thyroid checked - though now I’m not convinced the medical world actually know what causes thyroid dysfunction and I have never had classic symptoms of underactive thyroid of the weight gain, often complete opposite. So I changed my diet radically, exercise, meditation, breathing techniques - all have helped and I’ve avoided HRT and come down with the thyroid tablets. Doctor wouldn’t test bloods for levels - many won’t I think due to cost especially if you’re over 45 they just ‘assume’ peri menopause. I wa told come off pills… see if periods return which thank god they didn’t and on next smear told my cervix contracted. Lifestyle and diet changes I would recommend to anyone. I don’t now believe pills are the answer, they are the cheapest and easiest for most GP’s.

Try medical medium thyroid healing diet

I will be 51years in two months and at a point of wanting divorce due to menopause.
Is anyone experiencing dry, non lubricating vagina? Please advice🙏

I am 49 and just been told I have moved from peri into menopause following blood test results. I am on the pill so had no periods for years. Have not been advised to come off it yet. Not been offered hrt. I have a few day flushes that can be quite harsh. My main issues at the minute is fatigue and body aches

I tried hrt for a year it was a bit bumpy as I think my issue was low testosterone rather than oestrogen. So I may review it again once I’m post menopausal but for now trying herbs & diet

hi, so you can check if you have it through blood test ?
