Pregnancy Essentials

Hi! I am almost 14 weeks and looking for some essentials. What are some things that you think one must invest? Like what kind of pregnancy pillow is best per your experience? I checked online and there are so many options that’s it’s confusing!

I hated my pregnancy pillow. Slept with it maybe twice. I much prefer just a regular body pillow.

Pregnancy pillows and comfortable night gowns or dresses . Comfortability is key 😊

I loved my pregnancy pillow. It had a detachable part which was nice and had a part they didn’t have stuffing that my husband liked because he could still cuddle with me.

PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow, U-Shape (Gray / Star Pattern, Detachable)
That’s the one I got on Amazon. I also liked it because it kept me on my side.
Another thing I enjoyed having was a bath pillow. If I had a stressful day I would take a bath and having a bath pillow made it a lot easier on my back and shoulders. Also invest in some sweatpants. I got men sizes so they fit me the whole pregnancy lol

I have the ovela pillow that wraps front and back, I've found it too hot over summer so some nights have just slept with a few pillows instead. I didn't really feel like I truly needed it until about 24 weeks. I've loved because of how big it is I can curl it up on its self and hang out on my front with my belly hanging in the gap. It's bliss as a normally tummy sleeper

I love my pregnancy pillow - I’ll probably keep using it even when I’m not pregnant! I got mine from BuyBuyBaby, I think it’s the Leachco Snoogle Jersey pregnancy pillow. It’s pretty big so if you have anything smaller than a queen size bed, I wouldn’t recommend it. Otherwise, I love it - I’m usually a tummy sleeper and this pillow has helped me not flip to my back or on my stomach. Also, my pregnancy night routine consists of putting oil on my belly - I’ve been using the Bio-Oil Skincare Oil for stretch marks since I’ve already been using it on my acne scars prior to pregnancy. Personally, it works for my stretch marks though it’s different for other people.

My pregnancy pillow is an old one but I love it. It has a small bit that fits behind my back and then the big long bit for in front and between my legs. The bit behind the back stops me rolling onto my back in my sleep.

You need to be comfortable so definitely invest in maternity clothes if you're not already in them. Maternity bras are heaven!

I'm 27 weeks and just got a pregnancy pillow last week. My main issue was hip soreness so I didn't think it would help (which it doesn't much) BUT I was sleeping with 4-5 pillows and turning around was a hurdle. Now it is so much more easier that I don't wake up or barely when I need to turn so I am still less tired. Mine is chilling home from amazon

I recommend burts bees mama belly oil !! I used it every night it’s not greasy like many oils and I know stretch marks may or may not appear but I didn’t get any using this stuff. And a good easy slip on pair of shoes / boots depending on your environment my feet killed once I started gaining around week 20.

Pregnancy ball 100%.
It’s a life saver towards the end of pregnancy, the only thing that makes me comfortable and eases pain and pressure down there. Xx

I never used a pillow but a back brace was a must for me, as I never stopped moving during my pregnancy

I kept track of everything that I used with my 2020 baby knowing I wanted more babies. It’s absolutely saving me now that I’m pregnant and pregnancy brain has kicked in 😅 I hope it helps you too! https://www.rootandriseblog.com/what-to-put-on-a-baby-registry/

Friends wedding abroad

Hi all. I know this is FTM... But really need advice. I am currently pregnant with baby #2. Only 8 weeks. I didn't want to tell anyone yet, my partner and boss knows (needed for risk assessment reasons annoyingly). My friend is getting married in a remote part of Spain in ~3 months. I've already had a few minor complications, pain, bleeding, vanishing twin... I got preeclampsia last pregnancy and a terrible birth.
I am pretty sure I don't feel comfortable flying and then travelling out to a remote part of Spain during pregnancy. It will just be me and my toddler. I know it's overcautious but I just don't feel comfortable. I'm not even sure if I am going to be classified as high risk pregnancy or not.
How do I handle this? I need to tell her ASAP, but I didn't really want to tell anyone yet as doc told me miscarriage risk is a bit increased with vanishing twin. Any ideas?

Anxious/depressed

My first pregnancy symptom was my anxiety out of nowhere. I feel like I'm a bundle of nerves and just so scared of everything. Is anyone else feeling similar? How are you managing? Are we contributing it to hormones?
