My little girl was born at 34 + 5 by emergency c-section on 23rd January so she has just turned 5 weeks old. Her due date was 1st March which is tomorrow! She was 4lbs at birth and spent 11 days in neonatal before she was discharged. Other than initial feeding issues she is completely healthy just very small. She was weighed last week and is now 5lbs 8ozs. My question is when would you feel comfortable taking her outside for a walk? The nurses in the hospital had said to not take her out and limit visitors until her due date, but now that the date has arrived I still don't feel confident? I have been dying to get out of the house as I can't drive either with the section but don't want to take any chances 🤔 I already have 2 older kids and haven't had to consider any of this stuff before.

I had a premie and took him out at 4 days old.

I think as long as your both wrapped up warm. What harm can it do to see a bit of different scenery you both deserve it x

My son was born at 33+0 and I took him out the day after we got home from hospital x

My daughter was premature and born at the same gestation as your baby. We took her outside when she was 3 weeks (after birth) for a walk. Just make sure to wrap her up well.
