Which would you choose?
I have fertility insurance through progeny which is amazing but they are lifetime benefits and only allow so many attempts.
For better chances would you just jump into IVF after 1 failed IUI or give the IUI a few more tries?
Just don’t want to exhaust me benefits on IUI and pay out of pocket for IVF if needed.

We ended up doing 3 failed IUIs before moving on to IVF. I got pregnant after our first FET. I wish we would have jumped straight to IVF to save us some money and heartbreak. But I think this is an everyone is different situation and depends on a lot of factors.

IVF is more successful than IUI try looking at YouTube for guidance goodluck xx

Each person's body will respond differently so I don't think there is a blanket answer for everyone. If your insurance doesn't require a specific number of IUIs before IVF then I'd jump to IVF if I was in your shoes. The success rates are just so much higher with IVF and you could potentially have enough embryos from one retrieval for multiple pregnancies/children too if you are interested in that.

Agree with others. If u can jump straight to ivf then I’d do that. It’s got higher success rates and might save some heartache.

We have progyny too and our fertility clinic recommended we try IUI first (3 rounds)- just based on no issues with testing. Just starting my first try!

Thank you all, this was along with the process I was thinking!

My insurance requires 3 IUI before attempting IVF. I’m going to try my second IUI this month. I am hopeful for the IUI success even though the success rates are lower it is less invasive.

I personally skipped IUI and went straight to IVF. I have unexplained infertility though and IUI was not going to change much for my outcome. I am very happy with my decision

My doctor recommended going straight to IVF, but I wanted to give IUI a chance. Tried three times, it failed. Wish I had taken doctors advice. I would have saved months, money, and heartache.

I also have Progyny. I had 2 smart cycles. I tried IUI 4 times one of which was canceled so didn’t count. After those 4 moves onto IVF. I didn’t want to waste any more portions of my smart cycles and then not have enough to cover IVF. I think if you have enough to try IUI before moving on to IVF it would be worth at least trying. But if you only have enough for one or the other, I’d say IVF. So that you don’t still wind up needing IVF but don’t have the coverage. Good luck to you! Progyny was great. Villiage pharmacy on the other hand was a pain in my behind you work with.

We did 3 IUIs first, all failed, I’ve now had 1 failed ICSI, and I’m onto my next. Everyone responds differently. My friend got pregnant first time with IUI but the success rates are higher with IVF

Genetic testing with IVF… you can have chemical miscarriage with IUI especially a concern cause you’re overstimulating your cycle with the drugs. Still can have chemical miscarriage with IVF but at least you can test before implantation

I'm going straight to ivf. Done all my testing, they suggest iui but nope I want ivf. 3 and done. Hopefully

Ivf 100%

I would skip to IVF - the cost of IvF is much high so better for insurance to pay than you! Also - it depends on your age and AMH levels. I have low AMH so I’m moving to IVF sooner than others.

I had to do IUIs and so so so wish I hadn’t and went straight to IVF. I would have been less emotionally bruised from all the disappointments and saved time. All my numbers have been good and no male issues so thought IUI should work. But nope. Success rates of IUIs are quite low compared to IVF.

Decision made. Scheduled follow up consultation to discuss moving to IVF… have to wait until March 31 😫

I had three failed IUIs with clomid for unexplained infertility. It was an emotional rollercoaster each month, and now I’m about to start IVF. IUIs do work for some people, just unfortunately not me 💔
