Hi,
Does my baby's soft spot look sunken? I can't decide if it is or not as I've been looking at it for so long! I can't say I usually notice the soft spot but I have done today! I don't know whether to ring the GP as I don't want to waste their time if I'm just overthinking!

It does look to me. Definitely call them, you don't want to blame your self later! I did call 999 with my baby girls eczema flare up, obviously nobody was interested even tho her face was swollen 😳 but I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't.

Definitely looks it. Run your finger over it. You’ll feel if it’s sunken or not. Is she feeding normally?

When my wee one got her jabs she had a day and she just cried all day and wasn’t eating her usual amount and her soft spot was sunken too but next day she was fine. I think if they are having enough wet nappies and still eating a bit then there’s nothing to worry about but maybe keep an eye out over the next couple of days xx

I didn't even know that was linked to dehydration! I have noticed it sometimes when my baby cries. I never thought that was not normal tho

Just for reference, my lb was blue lighted and admitted to nicu last week with sepsis from a virus and when we left the hospital 4 days later his soft spot was so sunken that you could follow it all the way forward and back as well as sideways. He was looked at by multiple doctors and none of them were worried.
The only time to be worried is if it’s accompanied by other signs of dehydration like dry eyes, no wet nappies etc. I’ll pop a pic below so you can see how sunken it can be alone with no other symptoms and they still don’t see it as cause for concern xx
