What appointments are standard in every pregnancy?

Basically I’ve heard of most people going for a 28 week growth scan and wanted to know if this is a standard procedure or if it only gets offered for those who aren’t measuring within the averages.
I’m 27 weeks and I’ve not been booked in for a 28 week scan nor has it even been mentioned to me.
I feel like I’ve had such a lack of care since my pregnancy is high risk and I’m getting really frustrated. The numbers I’ve been given from the hospital don’t even work and go straight to answer machine or they just call out and never get answered.
My local midwife also can’t do my routine bloods at 28 weeks as their care isn’t linked to my chosen hospital so information cannot be passed over.
Is this normal?

I'm consultant led so get a scan at 28 weeks and 34 weeks and others if I measure big or small at any point.

I’m midwife led, not high risk, first time mum and I’ve only had a 12 week and 20 week scan. I don’t get any other scans unless anything crops up which they’re worried about I presume. I have had more bloods done at my 28 week appointment but that may be because my 12 week bloods came back with antibodies so they wanted to re-check them.

I'm high risk so get a scan at 28, 32, 36 and then every week after butttt that could just be my hospital 😬

12 & 20 week are standard scans unless measuring small, high risk, smokers etc. i smoked but gave up when i found out i was pregnant n ive been booked in for growth scans ‘just in case’ but originally midwife said just the 2 scans x

It depends where you live. Bristol is only 12 and 20 weeks unless you’re higher risk

In the uk you only get 12 and 20 week scans I’m afraid. It would depend on why you are high risk as anyone outside of “completely normal” would be classed as high risk so if it’s say something like you have low iron that can be classed as high risk but I don’t think it would necessarily require extra scans although I may be wrong. I am high risk due to a number of reasons including previous losses, high blood pressure, low lying placenta and very large fibroids that are growing rapidly throughout pregnancy and ovarian cysts so I am seen quite a lot, I get 3 weekly scans just now which will increase at 30 weeks and see either a consultant or a midwife every 2 weeks just now. My guess would be that it’s a good thing they aren’t seeing you too much, as frustrating as it is they must feel like you and baby are safe and at this point there is no need for the extra care and it may be that closer to your due date there will be more intervention. Hope that helps. X

Here’s all the standard appointments. NHS scans in a typical healthy pregnancy are at 12, 20 and in some trusts, 36 weeks.

The standard for UK is just 12 week dating/viability scan & then your anomolly scan at 20 weeks. The only reason you would have additional scans is if there were health worries x

I'm at St Mary's and high risk. I have one extra scan booked in which thd midwives told me I needed but not due to high risk just due to fibroid but thr doctor we saw didn't particularly even want to book us in for that. I've had lots of extra appointments but each appointment doesn't really consist of much and we've had a few mistakes cause they are always so over stretched. Each time we go care with each different midwife at hospital or community midwife isn't consistent and there's times I really feel looked after and times I feel like no one knows what's going on or they just want u out of there.

I’m not particularly high risk but I am consultant lead due to having a previous section, but I don’t have another consultant app till 36 weeks other than that I see my midwife and I only had 12 & 20 week scan up to now. I see her next week at 28 weeks for bloods and measurements. I think you’d only get offered a scan of bloods was not right or your measuring big or small x

I have growth scans because of low Papp-A reading at my 12 week appt. 12 and 20 are standard. But for any other reason for risk e.g. diabetes etc etc, you can get referred. You can also be referred for growth scans after midwife check if they believe your bump is on the smaller side. If you’re concerned at all, check in with your midwife about options x

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
