A few days ago I posted about my waters breaking at 33 weeks... so here the rest of the story.
My waters broke on Wednesday morning but didn't really it was what it was. I decided to call triage just in case. In the evening, when I finally got examined, the doctor confirmed my waters went and I was 1cm dilated.
They started me on steroids to keep baby's lungs healthy. I stayed at the hospital and was almost ready to be sent home on Friday but it was when I started cramping and bleeding (around 4pm). It was actually contractions. Doctors were all busy and only came to see me at 7pm and confirmed it was contractions (at that point I knew!!!) And that I was at 8cm.
Gas and air was the only pain relief I had because when I asked about epidural, no anaesthetist was available.
We welcomed Louis at 00.56 on Saturday. He is 6 weeks early and he is kept in the nicu at the moment but he is getting stronger and smarter everyday day. He is in good hands and we hope to take him home next week.
