I have been looking for a biblical baby name that’s not John, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Mary, Sarah, Esther, etc. nothing wrong with them! We are just looking for something a less used. We may end up not using a biblical name, but if anyone out there has any suggestions to something less common but still with some biblical impact that’s be a great help! Xx

Absolutely love Jesse for a boy
do you think Boaz is wearable? I LOVE it and so does the hubby but we’re worried people may look at us funny. Which if fine, just something we’re considering!
Selah is also really pretty I haven’t heard that! Thank you
Dionysius is pretty cool, I like the Greek aspect of it too. Achaicus is also super handsome!

Boys:
Ephra - fruitful
Reu - friend / Shepherd
Arrow - "Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them." Ps 127: 4-5
Oak - like from the metaphor of Oaks of righteousness
Zeal - passion
Asa - healer / morning (says about Asa his heart was devoted to the Lord)
I know a Bezzalel which has a cool reference in the old testament but not sure where (Don't personally love it but its very not Colin!)
Not technically biblical but I know a Maccabee nn Mac which is pretty cool from the Apocrypha https://www.chabad.org/holidays/chanukah/article_cdo/aid/3860786/jewish/What-Does-Maccabee-Mean.htm
Girls
Alethea - truth in Greek
Charis - grace in Greek
Ariella - Lion of God
Eden - delight
Hallelujah nn Hallie!
My name is just Kizzy but from Keziah which shows up at the end of the book of Job
Not biblical but linked themes...
Zella - blessed / lacking nothing, one who knows the way
Marnie - rejoice

Boaz is definitely wearable. I know a little Boaz and he’s super cute! X

Also know a zebedee and a zephaniah (Zeb and Zeph)

Or Zion
thank you so much for all this research! That’s so wonderful thank you!

I like Nehemiah and Raphael, Raph or Rapha for nn maybe.
Ziva is a Hebrew name and means ‘life’. I think it’s beautiful.

Jesus

oh yeah! Knew a Nehemiah nn Neo. So cute.
I knew a female Nehemiah I’ve never thought of it for a boy!

I love this app! You guys have given us so many names we haven’t seen. Thank you!

Eden

I think so! Bo is such a wearable nickname especially with all the Beau’s being born. And Ezra is getting a decent amount of use, so I think Boaz is a nice combo of those two names.

Selah is the pause for reflection found throughout the Psalms. I know a Selah and it’s such a pretty name

I’ll throw mine in too - it’s French and means ‘reborn’. My parents weren’t Christians but I became a born again Christian in my 20s. The significance of what you speak over your kids I guess.

I really like Ezra and Josiah
