How much CoQ10 are you taking?

Just surveying the landscape on CoQ10 dosage! My clinic aren't being very helpful, they don't really seem to know what dosage to recommend (or whether it's even worth taking it). I currently have 200mg tablets, 'max strength' in the Boots range, and I took this throughout my second round (which resulted in more eggs and embryos than the first round, but still the fresh transfer failed). However, I've heard of people taking higher doses. I'm wondering whether to up my dose to 2 tablets per day. Can I ask how much you all take, if you take it? I'm going for egg retrieval number 3 in late January/early February, to try and bank some more blasts (only have 1 in the freezer) before attempting another transfer. Thank you!

I did a lot of reading on this leading up to my egg retrieval and in terms of proven outcomes, the higher doses (eg. 400mg) are more commonly applied in studies. The alternative is to go for the more bioavailable (and expensive) form call ubiquinol.
But possibly the reason your clinic isn’t so helpful is that research is still limited and within that research there are so many variables that could affect egg quality that it’s so hard to attribute to one supplement or dose of that supplement. For now, there is a certain level of guesswork involved. But it doesn’t seem to do any harm to take a higher dose, except to your pocket.

I took a higher dose for 350mg but I’ve since been told by another dr to double that for 3 months for better results especially if older.
My friend who is 41 is on 900mg

I took 600mg daily in the morning

I am taking 400mg of ubiquinol, which is the type and dose that the clinic recommended. They also said to take it for three months before starting the next round

Can I ask how long you were taking the Max strength ones to get a better round of eggs and embryos? I took the standard boots tablets for my last collection but only got 1 egg/embryo. I have been taking max strength for a month for my next collection and will take it for another month 🤞🏽

Thank you everyone! Good to get an idea of how much everyone is taking. I only took the 200mg (max strength in Boots) for a month before round 2. Prior to that I was taking 100mg, which I'd been taking since my first round (but I didn't even start taking that until about a month before the first retrieval). I'm well aware that gametes take 3 months to develop, so I know I didn't give myself the best chance in either round 😆 I was a bit slow on the uptake of supplements, but I figured that even just a little boost towards the end of the development period might help the eggs.

For the second round, though, I doubt a slight increase in supplements contributed towards the increased success. I think it was down to the protocol changes: different stims, higher dosage of stims, short protocol instead of long. And, most importantly, no Covid (both my husband and I caught it just before our first round and it trashed his sperm, meaning we needed ICSI, and we only got 2 mature eggs and 1 fertilisation) x

this makes me feel so much better - I will be on short protocol this time with higher does of stims and some added extras - hgh and cetrotide. Plus I’ve been taking DHEA so 🤞🏽 we did ICSI first round and although they counted 11 eggs only one grew 😢 it fertilised though, just didn’t stick. So I think similar to you.

The guidence is 400mg per day (some say 200 morning & 200 evening) but I know some people take more.
Most cheaper brands (including boots & H & B) are COQ10 it’s cheaper but you’d need to take much more than 400mg as it’s not as easily absorbed by the body so you would just wee lots of it away.
It’s recommended to take Ubinquinol it’s pricier but is more easily absorbed & therefore more effective.

When to plan next baby?

Guys I'm 30 with a 13 months old. My baby is kind of easy going and now I think I might be ready for another one. The reason I don't want a large gap is because I want more babies and I feel I'm running out of time. I could wait if I was younger. What is the best age gap and how is it like getting pregnant in your late 30s and early 40s?

Ovulation test

I took an ovulation test yesterday and could barely see the test line so we decided to have sex, took another test today and it’s like this, what’s the chances that we will conceive, took two more and they’re all like this.
My cycles are ridiculously long (currently on day 112 of this cycle)

So bit of a back story this cycle up until now I haven’t tested for LH I was just winging it going off with CM but today I thought I’ll just do one to see and it’s came up super high 1.41 and is going down. Do you think ovulation is happening right now or has happened going off these strips below? EWCM has gone now. Had unprotected sex on Thursday and at 12:30am yesterday morning ( Sunday )

?

Hey girlies! I have an 8-month-old and I’ve started thinking about when to have another baby lol. I don’t want the age gap to be too big, but I also don’t want to be pregnant while my baby still needs me 24/7, if that makes sense.

To be fair, she’s a really good baby — she sleeps well and is generally quite easygoing.

Any advice on how long you waited between babies, or how long you think is ideal? 💕
