Since I retired from the military, I have been having a difficult time adjusting. I have to redefine so many things in my life, expectations from myself, my spouse, a new career. I also had my children later in life so they are still small and I think that adds to the difficulty of the transition. I want to change my hair, how I dress, and get out more. However, the thought of change brings anxiety. Also, I think, what is the purpose of thing now. It’s like my job is done with the exception of raising my children so what’s next. Is anyone else experiencing this? What has helped your transition?

I feel you on this, since having my daughter I just feel like a totally different person. It’s the redefinition of who I am, not being able to work as much when I was a career woman previously, wondering if I wasted too much time at work and not enough time living. Like you, I am reinventing myself one day at a time. 🦋

One thing at a time, one day at a time. We often put unnecessary pressure on ourselves. I make lists... daily, weekly and monthly. I always do something that makes me happy... calling an old friend, a new lip color, reading or taking a walk/run.
