Does your child's nickname have anything to do with their name meaning?
My partner keeps laughing at me cause I call our son Little Bear when his name means Little Seal. Says I'm confused and we should have called him something like Koda instead of Ronan 🤣 (all good humour!)
I was talking last night about getting a little tattoo to honour him but couldn't decide whether to get a little bear or seal for it 🙈

Our LG has so many nicknames but I call her duckling 🦆 Found out after we named her that Penelope is the goddess of ducks and means duck in Ancient Greek. I’m from the north and use duck as a term of endearment too so she’s regularly getting called little duck 💜

that's adorable 😍 Love the name Penelope too

My daughters name is Zariah but I call her Ronnie. No link to the actual name at all 😂

this is adorable! I love the name Penelope bad if I have a daughter with 100% be using it, a d weirdly, I call my son little goose! But that's just because we have pet geese... But now I love Penelope even more!

you NEED a duck, so you can play duck duck goose ❤️

My first daughter is called Blaire and we call her Bee
My second daughter is called Meadow and I call her little bird (her middle name is Wren) and she’s tiny so makes sense in my head

My sons name is Mateo but I don’t like how people pronounce it mah-tay-yo. I need that Spanish sparkle 🤌🏻✨ so I can him Matty or Matty Boy 🤍 He’s too young for “Matt” (if you know what I mean)

we named our little girl Penelope too! 😍
She gets called Poppy mostly, but I use Sweet Pea if we’re being cute 🥰

OURS IS A POPPY TOO! 💜

out of interest how would you pronounce Mateo? I’ve only met Italians by that name and pronounce it how you spelled out. Would love to know the difference x

No problem! 🥰 it’s pronounced mah-teh-o .. I never knew Italians pronounced it that way! That’s interesting.

My 1st son who’s 16 is called Cain but I’ve always called him Cainy or spud even now, and my 6 week old is called Thomas and I call him mouse 🐁 or Thomas tittle mouse ❤️ x

that’s so cute!! What a coincidence! Thought most people would go with Penny, but Poppy is way cuter 😍
I love how Penelope can have so many nicknames too! She can decide when she’s older if she wants to change it up 🥰

I call my boy by his middle name
