I have the Mirena (or however you spell it) IUD. I have had NO side affects and have no period.

You've had no weight gain or excessive acne?? Like I'm leaning towards this one but I'm scared of those two things because of horror stories

Nope not a single reaction. My skin is actually better than before my pregnancy (during it was fantastic) and im actually losing weight instead of gaining, but I'm sure its not from the IUD. But yeah I love it. Im glad I decided on it.

I’ve heard good things about the ring, and you can get it with very low hormones... even less than the lowest hormonal pill! You put it in yourself, and take it out when it’s time to have your period. This is what I’m going to go with when I can (6 months PP).

My sister got pregnant on the nivaring because it would fall out during sex 🙈 I'm not a fan of that one lol

Oh jeez! Good to know 😅

I’m on the depo no babies so far but my god the side effects 😭 makes me hella depressed and moody also gained weight. Periods are all over the joint but i mean I ain’t pregnant so it’s doing the job right? 😂 following this post because I want to change. Joys of being a woman 🙄

How long have you been on the depo?

Nearly two years

I had Mirena but got it removed because I had headaches from it and bad acne that wouldn’t go away but I didn’t have periods. When I had nexplanon it was fine but I did have periods, but my sister has it and she doesn’t have them. Everyone’s body reacts differently.

I had mirena and had to get it surgically removed. I had horrible pelvic pain. I didn’t have any periods but apparently my uterus is on the smaller side (I haven’t had children yet) and the mirena was too big and causing too much pain. They couldn’t remove it in office to had to go under anesthesia and everything.

I had the mirena for 5 yrs, got it placed after having my first daughter then wanted to get it removed to get pregnant again. Turned out it had flipped so I had to have it surgically removed. Found out I have a bicornate uterus (heart shape), and had to wait a few months before trying to conceive. Apparently even when flipped it still works lol.

Same one I got. I use to do pills before, but by far the best one I've is Mirena

I have an implant in my arm lasts for three years and some women don't have a period. I used the depo shot for several years lasts for three months at a time and no period.

The Depo shot is literally the worst form of birth control someone could possibly go on . Coming from me personally , and multiple people I know as well as multiple doctors I’ve spoken to. Gave me acne, gained lots of weight very fast, gave me the worst pain during sex I would literally cry everytime. Made my hormones go crazy and get depressed . Same thing happened to literally 5 people i know . I’m on the Mirena now and like it so far . Also the implant in the arm is the same hormones as the Depo shot so that will most likely have the same side effects

Oh I definitely know that, of course . But I’ve never been told by a doctor that a birth control should seriously be taken off the market . And I’ve been told by more than 3 that the Depo shot is one of them . And I’ve never met someone with a good experience on it .

Birth control effects everyone differently but I also had a bit of an issue with my mood on depo but none with my implant so far.

I'm on Nuva ring and love it! My hormones went bonkers after my 2nd. Hope you find something that works for you!

I honestly got the 3year implant. The IUD scares me🤦🏽‍♀️

I know a lot of people that love the Nuva Ring. I of course had an allergic reaction and swelled shut upon my first use. Depo caused me a lot of weight gain and IUD round 1 was a dream but round 2 was miserable. I think it’s really different for everyone and the stage your body is in hormonally.

Mirena IUD works well for me. No periods or weight gain. No drop in milk supply

Ahhh why is everything so scary

IUD freaked me out so I got the arm implant. I’ve only had if for a month but I’ve had no problems so far. The reason I decided to go that route is because I’ve had a couple of friends who have it and they love it!

Before I got pregnant I had the pill I loved it a lot I didn’t gain weight I would just take it every night or morning depends on when I remember.

I never took it at the same time everyday I just took it that day whenever I remembered.

Oh girl I have a 6yearold that's reminds me every day how bad I am at taking pills 🤣🤣

Do you think you'd like to have more children? If not, you and your husband should discuss a vasectomy. Messing with your hormones is no good. Try not to look at your period as an inconvenience. It's a great way to get to know your body. If you use a menstrual cup instead of tampons/ pads you'll only have to deal with your period twice a day & it's a lot less messy. It's also better for your body, the environment, & your wallet. Good luck!

Nuva ring has worked for me for 8 years now and no problems 2 healthy planned children and it works well with my anti seizure medicine aswell.....look into it. I love it!

Every birth control I ever tried negatively impacted my hormones/health. I wish I found something that worked for my body. But since I didn’t husband got a vasectomy. It’s nice not having to worry about bc now.
