Not sure about coloscop but my midwife told me not to get a Pap smear while pregnant

Surely your doctor wouldn’t refer you for a procedure that wasn’t safe?

A smear is not safe during pregnancy. You have to wait til 3 months post birth for one. Can’t comment on the other procedure

I’ll be 25 just few days after due date midwife said I’ll prob receive letter before hand to book smear and to decline until after baby x

I was told I can’t have my smear due to being pregnant and I have to them every year due to abnormalities so if they’re happy making people wait with abnormalities till after birth, I can’t see why they’d let someone do a routine one whilst pregnant x

I had a colposcopy when I was 27 weeks pregnant with my daughter last year due to a cervical polyp and was advised perfectly safe, they just can't take a biopsy of tissue. A smear I was advised is a no as pregnancy would give false readings of it anyway, you're supposed to wait 12 weeks after birth for a smear so all the pregnancy tissue is gone to avoid false results.

No mine got cancelled due to me being pregnant

I went for a colposcopy at just before 12 weeks. It all went fine and the lady was just extra gentle. They of course can’t take a biopsy and complete a full smear. Mine used dye to look at my cervix and ran the smear brush lightly over my cervix to see if there was anything (that light, I didn’t feel a thing)

I was told it was completely safe for those procedures, but just not for full smear or biopsy xx

Conceiving after C-section

Hi all!

I’ve seen many conflicting posts about conceiving after a c-section. I ideally do not want a large gap between my children. I’m currently 5 months pp and would like to start ttc in a few months.

People who waited or didn’t wait -what was it like?

If you didn’t wait the recommended time, was it another section or is a VBAC achievable that soon?

Thank you 💗

Clingy baby

Hi I know its quite normal for baby to want to he held all the time, but how long does this last so intensely for? It seems all day I cannot put baby down so have to wear a carrier to get anything done in the house. Do they become slightly more independent as time goes? It's really frustrating starting to have back ache from carrying everywhere

Gender scan

Has anyone had multiple pregnancies, one without finding the gender and one with? Which did you prefer? Did knowing make it easier to prepare?
I’m struggling to decide if I want to find out. My partner does want to know but I don’t. But now I’m wondering if I’m being mean amd making him miss out on the experience and it would actually be easier if we found out?

Just want some friendly advice.

37 weeks and 7 triage visits for reduced movements in the past 7 days

Hi girls, I’m starting to panic now, I’ve got an elective section booked but been in triage and admitted 1 night last weeks for 7 lots of reduced movements to the point I can’t feel my baby at all.

I have a consultant appointment today and don’t know what to do as it’s driving me crazy
