Yup currently dealing with this. I’ve had 6 in 6 months. My GP has referred me for an ultrasound which I’m having this afternoon! He said based on the results from that then we’ll have a plan of action. My mum had recurrent UTIs at my age and she was put on a low dose of antibiotics for a year which sorted them out and she hasn’t had one since.

Had antibiotics at around 26th week for 7 days. Looks like UTI has gone, then on 34th weeks it’s back. Not gonna drink any antibiotics again if it does not help… 😒

I’ve been on antibiotics my whole pregnancy for recurring urine infections and I am under a consultant because of this.

I had bladder and kidney scans and they’ve all been clear. Sometimes pregnancy just makes you more susceptible to these things. Keep taking the antibiotics, it stops the infection getting out of hand even if it doesn’t clear it.

Aside from that, stay really hydrated 😁

I would absolutely take antibiotics again. They do help and they prevent the infection growing or affecting other organs.

As a preventative (not cure once have) these might sound silly but I used to get UTIs all the time for years and these stopped them- 100% cotton underwear is a must and changing at least twice a day; and no bubble bath or any products in bath… makes a bath boring but does help. Those two honestly sorted me out. I do appreciate pregnancy UTIs might be different of course but I’m 35+3 and it’s the one symptom I haven’t suffered with… touch wood! Hope you feel better soon… bloody awful things.

I ended up in hospital with suspected pre term labor because of a urine infection, you should definitely take more antibiotics if you have an infection!

Unfortunately they become more common during pregnancy :( take your antibiotics, drink loads and wear cotton underwear, pee straight after sex (like immediately haha) that helped me so far. Once you had a baby and they still occur get in touch with GP and consider some antibacterial pills. I struggled with reoccurring utis for yesrs and those anti bac pills helped me so much but they are not recommended while pregnant x

no, definitely no. Feeding an unborn baby with antibiotics more than 7 days is not normal. Everything goes to placenta whatever we eat or drink, even if GP says its safe during pregnancy.

7 days is max.

the risks of keeping the infection are much higher than taking the antibiotics. Like I’ve said above, I have been on a lot of antibiotics throughout pregnancy and had close monitoring of my baby and he is doing just fine. If you want to take that risk, that’s up to you, but I wouldn’t.

Before I got pregnant I always had reoccurring utis, now that I’m pregnant I get them all the time. The only way I get rid of them temporarily without antibiotics (because they always come back since your bladder system is more sensitive pregnant) I drink a TON of cranberry juice, it’s a natural cleaner of your bladder/kidneys/urethra, it’s 100% cranberry juice no added sugar and it’s not the cocktail blend. To help relieve the feeling of the uti I take a warm bath with just water, no fragrance or anything in the water, if you can sleep without underwear and try to limit irritation on the urethra. Also eating yogurt is good as it has probiotics which can help limit the harmful bacteria in your bladder.

I would say light detox. Be a women. Try to feel good about yourself. And less eggs and sugar. Coz they feeding pathogens in your body. Cranberrys. Raspberry leaf tea. Sage tee. Send a lot of love to yourself and baby. Good luck girl

I agree with this message above me no harsh sugars or sodas or coffee. These cause UTIs parsley tea helps with a urinary trac azo, cranberry or cranberry juice diluted my mother, struggles with UTIs and I make sure she doesn’t hold her bladder long due to incontinence
