Hi All! FTM, Entering week 40 and no signs of labor, no dilation yet. Please share tips and ways to induce natural labor. Induction is already scheduled on week 41 but don’t want to go through that process.

There’s no sure fire way. Second time mom who is ultimately getting induced after trying everything, but the things that have the most efficacy are curb walking and walking in general, hand expressing or pumping (as it can start contractions) or a membrane sweep.

I went into labour around 39 weeks, but still had to be induced and eventually an emergency c section happened.
I found that I was very active , I barely drove , I walked everywhere and attended exercise classes .

I was not dilated on Monday. Had sex, drank tons of raspberry leaf tea, curb walked and by Wednesday I was in labor.

I upped my raspberry leaf tea consumption but I think ultimately what put me into labor was letting go of stress and surrendering to the fact that I wasn’t in control!
I was drinking a liter of tea a day. I steeped it overnight and would drink it over ice the next day.

I’m willing to go to 42w if no low risk which I was all my pregnancies and I went to 42w w my second. I was out all day walking the mall then we had sex that night and triggered labour. Walk, put music on and dance, keep active, have sex, move your body.
Sorry but I just need to get this off my chest and to see if anyone else feels the same.
I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant and apart from the booking midwife appointment and scan I’ve had no support from the NHS what so ever. I was referred to a service but haven’t heard a thing and now this morning I nearly passed out on the train. Tried to call midwife but I cannot find a number and when I did they said if your under 17 weeks then call your gp. I just feel totally alone in this and have no one to ask any of the important questions like is nearly passing out normal!?

Im 40 years old, pregnant with my first and 39+5 days. Last week I had my last consultant appointment they recommended I be induced via ballon last week. I declined that as I want a natural birth without any intervention. I was then booked To see a doctor yesterday and CTG. I again declined being induced and wanted further monitoring till my due date 25th September. I’ve still got no signs of labour and have another scan and ctg booked tomorrow. They have also offered me a sweep tomorrow to get things moving and I’m still unsure if I want this. The only reason for sweeps and ballon induced method is my age. Doctors say if I want a sweep it has to start tomorrow incase it doesn’t work then they need to do another one or else will go straight for induction on Monday.
