Rant incoming

I had something really similar recently and it scared me too! Pregnancy causes a lot of changes to your circulation — your blood volume is increasing significantly to support you, baby and the placenta, while your blood vessels also relax and your blood pressure can run a bit lower, particularly in the first half of pregnancy. That can sometimes make you suddenly feel really lightheaded or like you might faint.
Definitely make sure you’re eating regularly and drinking plenty, especially if nausea has meant you haven’t been managing as much as usual. And listen to your body — if you start feeling woozy, sit or lie down somewhere safe and give yourself time to recover rather than trying to push through it. Rest when you need to as well ❤️
One isolated episode can happen in pregnancy, but if it keeps happening, you actually faint, or you’re worried about it, I’d speak to your midwife/GP/maternity team so they can check you over and make sure there isn’t another reason for it. xx

You should have a 16 week midwife appointment coming up! But yeah generally everything is GP or A&E for immediate health concerns this early. Do you not have a helpful GP? Mine has written me 3 prescriptions so far for all my pain and suffering😆 with the fainting, you may have low iron. Or it may honestly just be normal. I’ve also had faint/dizziness recently, no low iron, just a normal pregnancy thing🙃 but can be triggered by dehydration

I’m sorry you’ve been passed off. I had a problem last week and called the midwife triage number. They directed me to EPU, who then told me to call my gp so I understand the frustration at feeling like we’re ’in between’ care services. The gp was concerned by my symptoms so sent me up to the hospital.
The irony was that I ended up in hospital for tests and after being passed to different wards, I ended up back in the ward linked to EPU 🤦‍♀️ Such a faff!
