SAFE OR NOT SAFE

Hey Mumma’s ! I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and have a really strong urge to get my hair done. I have read si many articles in Google but very conflicting as some says it is safe some says No. I just want to make sure that I do right by my little bub 💕

I got mine done 😘 are u bleaching ur hair?

I dyed my hair throughout the pregnancy.

I got mine done at 13 weeks

Yes . I was wanting to top up my roots as my regrow th is quite long now

The big thing accoridng to my dr when I was pregnant is the smell. If you go in the salon and the smell of bleach and chemicals hits you in the face, not safe. Otherwise, perfectly fine!

Everyone does have different opinions though it will come down to what you feel comfortable with but i got mine done at 13 weeks and 37 weeks 🙂

I got mine done when I was pregnant & was fine

I get mine done all the time and the only reason I stopped bleaching it was my hairdresser said it literally wouldn't take because of the hormone change

You’ll be fine 💖 I’d recommend a patch test 24-48 hours prior to having it done just because some people can develop allergies when pregnant if you just pop into the salon and ask them to do one for you before your appointment date they should be happy to help you out 💖 I’ve been a fully qualified hairdresser for 11 years this year and have done the hair of maaaaaany many pregnant and breastfeeding mummas and all have been fine, the colour etc is on your skin for such a small amount of time in the scheme of things that it really isn’t an issue for the baby I’d be worried more so about a skin reaction from yourself 💖 I hope that helps! P.s I’ve cut back in colouring my hair since being pregnant purely out of laziness but I have still been colouring my hair/ tinting my eyebrows and little bean is measuring perfect with all the right amount of fingers and toes 🥰 do what makes you feel good right now!

Also sorry!! Another option is foils if you reaaaalllllly want to keep colour off the skin! A semi permanent toner is usually used but it’s not a permanent so it won’t penetrate the way a permanent colour would just an option for extra cautious mums 🥰

I've had mine done twice. I go to a small salon that isn't very busy so the chemical smell isn't strong. I'm pretty sure that is the main concern. :)

Good ventilation is key I think. Give them the heads up that you're pregnant before you go there and try choose a less busy time. :)

I’ve always done my hair with all 6 pregnancies and never had a problem thank God

thank you all so much you lovely mummas 💕 I’m going to contact my hair lady to give her heads up !

I dyed my hair every 4 weeks during both pregnancy just tell the hair dresser and don't get any bleaching done
