Hey! I have my daughters first birthday coming up and me and my partner are struggling with ideas. We did plan on going to a zoo near us but family have become unwell, we thought about going on a weekend break but as her birthday falls on Easter weekend it's so expensive. Please help any ideas are appreciated!

Me and my husband are going to take our LO to the aquarium - just the three of us on her actual birthday. If the weather is nice, we’ll do a small garden party/ BBQ with family and friends either day before or after.

What about a get together at yours? Some family, friends, a bit of a buffet? She’s only one so maybe not old enough to appreciate a trip away is she?

If you have a build a bear near you as long as you go in on the week of her birthday, she can get a bear for £1 as part of the pay your age scheme.
We’re planning on doing this as a part of his first birthday treat

We went to the sea life centre :) xx

Yes we have been looking at lots of things but everything is just so expensive nowadays. I know that she's not going to remember as it's her first birthday but both me and my partner will remember. I am appreciating all of the suggestions thank you xx

My LB 1st Birthday is Easter weekend too!
Im just having a party for him with some friends from baby groups & family. X

We’re going to a aquarium and build a bear for the day and I’m making him a cake to cut when we get home x

Yea its a shame I didn't go to any baby groups because of my anxiety, I am so much better now so I will be looking at starting groups x

we never went to any groups either, we are only just starting to go to one this Thursday and I’m sooo nervous! But I know the kids will love it x

@Ebonyleigh yes I'm nervous about going to them but I know it's the best interest for my daughter x

Also Easter Sunday for my boys birthday
We are going to a farm park on the Easter Friday where they also have an Easter trail
On his birthday we are having close friends and family over, going to set up a play area for kids in lounge and buffet /cake in the kitchen

We did a little party at a local park with close friends and family and I made lots of snacks and cake and such. If the weather isn’t great yet where you are you could do it at home, decorate, maybe bbq. Or if your family all decided they’re already going to be sick next week (kind of weird no?) you could still go to the zoo just the three of you and take some cute photos. 1 year olds don’t really get that it’s their birthday so apart from having some photos to show them later, the first birthday is more a celebration for you and your little family for making it through the first year. So definitely so something you’re excited about too, or do a baby activity on baby’s actual birthday and something nice for you and your husband too

@Jessica yea might just have to do something like that, it's my nan and grandad they have a lot of health conditions as it is and they and not well at the minute, so they have said for now they won't be able to attend as they live about an hour away the travel would be too much for them x

My son's first birthday was Easter Sunday last year. We had a party at our house (we had a huge garden), invited both families and some close friends, had a bbq. It was lovely. I got everyone an Easter egg instead of party bags
