Help please!

No advice but my c section was one of the most special days of my life ❤️

You got this! Know that with planned c sections, they will match you and actually have blood in the room with you if you need it. TV c sections are scary, but the reality is that they are quite safe. Good luck!!

i felt the same way when they told me i had to get an emergency c section mama , my heart rate was 250 going into the operating room but the nurses got to talking to me and all those thoughts went away when i realized i was in good hands

No advice, or knowledge on the stats, but with no trauma beforehand (ie, hours of labour / pushing / increased blood pressue etc) your body is in a calm state to accept the anaesthetia, so you'll be lovely and regulated.
My elective c section was a really amazing experience, so calm. I was obviously anxious but they realy put me at ease and took pictures. Once you're numb, the baby is out within minutes, so just focus on that. Focus on meeting your little love.
It was such a positive experience, I'm booked in for my second in 2 months time x

❤️❤️ I listened to calming music during my surgery!! Chat with your support person or the anesthesiologist to calm your nerves. Also there was like 9 people not including me and my husband during my surgery, idk if thats how it always goes but I was high high risk and had no complications at all.

I’ve had two sections and both were so lovely and calm.

Both times they had my “special blood” ready (I have special blood requirements) and neither time did I need a drop. I lost 310ml and 330ml in both surgeries, not even enough to run the cell saver and recycle it. No complications, no issues.

I don’t have any advice for you here, but you’re gonna do just fine with planned C-sections they go a lot smoother than emergency C-sections. I had an emergency one and everybody I’ve spoke to about planned ones have had nothing but good things to say don’t worry they will be prepared for you if anything were to happen but you’re gonna be just fine. It’s a lot easier cause you do not have contractions or anything you’ll go in your baby will be out really quickly. You’ll be able to sit there and spend time with your baby while you’re healing. I was also really scared, but I had two c sections, and both went great! There were multiple doctors and nurses around, some had calming words and I got to decide what music to listen to. Communicate with your doctor, they're the experts and they get to perform these surgeries multiple times per week / month. Trust that you are in good hands and even if complications arise, they will overcome them. Good luck!

I’m terrible for advice but I will say this. I was also bricking it for my section. I knew I wanted it over induction because unfortunately I wasn’t going into natural labour. Anyways, the section went forward and I couldn’t have asked for a better delivery. Everyone dealing with me during the section were the most lovely people I’ve ever met, they’re super knowledgeable and know exactly what to do. If I have a second baby, I’ll definitely be having another section. It was an adrenaline rush and excitement all at the same time.

Don’t be afraid! I understand though, I had 2 c sections. The first one was an emergency and the second one was scheduled/planned. Both went well but I healed a lot better with the scheduled c sections!

My advice is to just bring your concerns to your doctor. Although I will say that c-sections are a very well practiced surgery. I have had 5 c-sections, all of which went on with no problems! Even still, they always have things ready and in place just in case of any emergencies. ❤️

Let them know your fears! I found them to be so understanding and if at all you start to feel uncomfortable/ panicky during the surgery, speak up!

You can talk to your OBGYN about having a “gentle C-section” and maybe walking you through the procedure before and during?

As far as hemorrhage, you can discuss with your Dr the delivery of the placenta in more detail and them using less force to release it.

Advice from someone who did bleed out. I had my little girl last July and bled out - I had absolutely NO idea I did until after the surgery and was in recovery. It was dealt with swiftly and calmly by the surgeons. It is SO rare, even the surgeons told me they only have to deal with this sort of thing rarely, but if it was to happen, you are in the safest hands! They are there ready to stop the bleeding. I also sobbed before my surgery to the doctors because I was so scared of having surgery and they put you at ease so much and discuss everything that happens. They talked to me all throughout the surgery to make me calm. The scariest part is getting into the operating theatre, it honestly is over in under an hour! Even though I bled out, having a C section was the best decision and will 100% have one again when we decide to have another baby 💗

I will tell you what I tell all my patients who are nervous because complications are real and they happen. We practice and simulate emergencies regularly. We do education on updated techniques and practically try and perfect complications. If you were to bleed out, I can guarantee you that you probably wouldn’t know until after because everybody just kind of goes into fix it mode. :) you will do great on your C-section, but express your fears to your nurses because we will usually over inform you of things to help relieve your anxiety ❤️❤️

I did have a section where I actually did almost bleed to death, and what they did was give me a life saving blood transfusion when meds didn’t work. I think I needed 3 or 4 units of a thousand ml each…BUT the only reason I bled so much was because I had preeclampsia so the high blood pressure made the bleeding worse. They’ll do everything they can to take care of you and they’re experts - take comfort in that 🩷

I always thought I was going to die during birth for years I felt that way so was terrified to give birth. My first baby was vagina and bled 1500ml which was awful so i opted for a planned c and had my baby recently and it was the most amazing experience. I bled 800ml but was managed really well. If you speak to your midwife or consultant explain your fears they will make sure the day goes so smoothly x
