Took my mom the second time while my husband stayed at home with our first. 10/10 would recommend 👌

i take it in the US you are only allowed one birth partner?

For my first I initially only was going to have my husband but as everyone was leaving the room (I labored with both sets of parents, my choice as I love them both and wanted them at the hospital when he was born) I stopped my mom and had them both. Second time, my husband's parents kept older brother and my parents left when it was time to push. My husband almost didn't make it to the birth of #1 due to being at work so my mom was prepared but thankfully he looked at his bosses and said they'd see him once his paternity leave was over and walked out. He works in a prison so it was hard to get ahold of him to begin with.

Id find it really odd that youre partner would be ok with this and wouldn't want to be there for the birth of his child, like it's a massive and beautiful thing bringing a child into the world and the only person I'd want by my side is the father of my children

Wish I had the relationship with my mum where I could have her at my labour! I would definitely choose her over husband, or as well as, if we had the relationship

Just my husband. For us it was a private but big step and also one my mum told us to take alone. It’s the start of us as a family and that moment is irreplaceable, I don’t think not letting him be present would have been good for our relationship. What man doesn’t care about seeing the birth of his baby?

Mum flew in for baby 2 and looked after my toddler. She popped in to see baby 2 after he was born but I personally loved it just being us. It’s like the calm before the storm, a few hours/days of peace before the real world comes.

Your husband will want to be there. If I exclude my husband from all the births of our children he would be very upset
