I've been in hospital to be induced for 2nights now and nothing has worked - sweep, pessary + 3 gel insertions. They want to break my waters at 1cm and then put me on a drip. I don't know whether to just ask for a C-section instead 😞

I was 1-1.5cm when my waters were broken, quickly went to 4cm - but then ended up having an emergency C-section due to baby’s HR dropping really low and not coming back up x

Everybody is different but I had the same as you over 3 days. 4th day they broke my waters at 1cm at 7:30am by 6pm I’d only dilated to 3cm and that’s after a epidural and the drip pumped up to the max. Nothing was working so I asked for a c section as I was exhausted and it was honestly a great experience. My surgeon said he’d never seen someone so happy to be in theatre before 😂

This happened to me I stayed at 1cm dialated for 5 days … on day 6 I asked for a section I couldn’t cope !

did you have an epidural?

hi Amy, did you have an epidural before they broke your waters?

did you have an epidural before water being broken?

did you have an epidural before they broke your waters?

did you have an epidural before they broke your waters?

No I had it hours after 🥰 they gave me gas and air to break my waters

I was 1cm dilated after having a sweep on the Friday, had no other induction methods they broke my waters on the Wednesday 9.30pm and my daughter was born 8.59am Thursday. Got to 5+cm with just breathing then did the rest with gas and air. Didn't have anything when they broke my waters it was a weird feeling but not really painful.

I was 1cm when my water broke and I headed to hospital hoping for vaginal birth. My cervix didn’t dilate on its own so they gave me pitocin, after 36 hours i was 4cm only and tired as hell. I took epidural at 4cm after 12 hours of water broke. I ended up with c-section as baby wasn’t able to take pitocin well. I was terribly sad about what happened and i never thought of c-section caz i was active throughout my pregnancy. But honestly it was not so bad first 5 days were tough but after that its no different than a vaginal one

Hi , I’m in this exact position as we speak (actually 2cm), so disheartening isn’t it. My biggest pregnancy fear was induction. Due to have my waters broken tonight, can I ask what route you took in the end? X

Hi !
I chose against C-section as I knew that would always be an option if the induction didn't go to plan. I got that far with the induction, I carried on with it! I made totally sure I had an epidural before they broke my waters. I went on the hormone drip and i had a successful vaginal birth 😊 baby was 9lb1! I had the epidural and waters broke at about 10pm and then I gave birth at 6pm the next day. Good luck with whatever you choose!! 😘😘

Hi im in the same position as you stuck at 1cm dilation and they want to break my water and I don’t have contractions put me in the drip, would you recommend to get epidural straight away before they break the water or wait till when my contractions start? Glad to hear it all worked out for you xx
