Hi everyone! This is my first pregnancy, and I just had the 12 week ultrasound this past Wednesday. Baby’s crown rump length at 12w0days was just 53.8mm, and from what I’m seeing online, average should be 55-60mm. Does anyone else have a smaller baby so far? Has anyone had a pregnancy that measured small but turned out fine? The doctor and tech didn’t say anything, but I’m so full of anxiety, like all the time, that maybe baby’s not developing right, or not getting enough oxygen.
It was still so amazing to see baby for the first time, and looking so relaxed in there!

yesss!! my baby measured in the 44th percentile aswell in the beginning just alittle small..they reassured me everything is okay and now my baby is chunkyyy!! everything should be okay but you can always ask next appt if theres any concerns 😊

I'm a nurse and still freak out when online doesn't match. However, my doctor yelled at me for comparing to "normal" numbers and reading things online. If the doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be. There is nothing you can do except love you baby and send all the positive vibes!

My whole pregnancy I was small doctors kept insisting my baby will be small because her head was always in my uterus so they couldn’t measure don’t stress it mom you have a long time to go continue eating and drinking your water baby is fine

Ultrasound tech here, your baby looks beautiful! Baby seems fine, your fine. If there was cause for alarm, it would have been addressed before you left if you had your scan at the OB office or with a Dr. Present.

thank you❤️❤️ that feels so, so good to hear right now

@Casey NP! If you measure off consistently early on, they will typically move your due date, not accuse the baby of growing slow. The first trimester is the best time to get due dates down. You could have ovulated a day or so later, and the person before them could have mis measured. Heck, this tech could have mis measured. Unfortunately, it's not an exact science for us, and sometimes we get things wrong. Babies love to move 😆 wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy and smooth delivery!

My doctor told me that until around 20 weeks most babies are around the same size of others, I would try not to worry til then, and see if the baby catches up or if it trends up even if the baby stays small percent.
My first baby was between 3 and 10 percent the whole time but they mainly cared about if she stayed on her curve or if her growth slowed. I was told then that as long as she does grow she’d be okay.
She was born early because I had preeclampsia, (36 week) and she had restricted growth (IUGR) but she quickly grew outside of the womb and was perfectly healthy, and is a great size now. She caught up quickly.

Yes I just seen my little one april 8 and I’m 13w5days today my baby also measured small at my 12w appointment my midwife told me it’s normal as long as it’s not in the 20s at 12ws

Not saying baby won’t be ok but baby can be premature but growth can change after baby is born

I would trust the doctor.

Girl this does not mean your baby will be premature idk why anyone would comment something like that smh. Your baby will be fine if it was any concern your dr would have told you something. Not every baby is the same exact size so don’t worry about it to much. 💕
