HELP - Ganirelix/Cetrotide Timing

I have a monitoring appointment tomorrow morning which would mean I have to take my ganirelix/cetrotide injection an hour and 15 minutes earlier than usual. They say to take them at the same time everyday - will this hour and 15 minutes earlier injection time make a big difference? Help!

I’m not sure how it works for taking it earlier but my thought would be that unless you can switch to that time moving forward, that would be a problem. Could you bring the injection to your appt?

I thought abt bringing it but the nurses won’t administer it. I’ve never done it myself - my husband does it for me every morning.

I had this situation and I took the cetrotide to the clinic with me and administered it myself in a room. However the nurse said I didn't need to worry and I could have just done it at home earlier!

That seems silly that they won’t do it. I would think taking it on time is important enough though that they might make an exception or maybe one of them could watch as you do it to advise you if they can’t inject it themselves. I totally get the nervousness of doing it yourself. My husband did them as well. Is there anyway your husband could come with you and leave right after?

My husband has COVID right now so we have been masking when he comes upstairs to give me the shot then he goes back to isolating in the basement. A mess, really! 😰

@Jordane oh this is good to hear!!! Thank you!!

I would double check with your clinic but my nurse always advised me that I have a two hour window on either side to take ANY of my injections so if I normally take it at 8am then I could technically do anywhere between 6am-10am. Of course, you want to try to do it around the same time everyday but if you have something going on then you have that window to fall back on.

My nurse ended up telling me it was fine that I took it an hour early. I had to make the decision before she got back to me - so thank you for your feedback!!!!

@Hanna so pleased you sorted it and that it was okay! :)
