Enfamil powder vs ready to feed

Hi 👋
Anyone tried both enfamil ready to feed and same version powder formula?
I’m planning to switch from ready to feed to powder form I tried it myself and it tastes more fishy than ready to feed. I’m using babybrezza to make the bottle. Anyone tried this and it’s normal ? How did you transition from ready to feed to powder ? Thank you 😊

I feed the exact same (Enfamil A+) and did the exact same (moved from ready to feed to powder)😊 baby transitioned very easily to powder and I just offered the powder formula bottle as I normally did the ready to feed, didn’t do a slow switch over or anything. I do find it tastes a bit different, I don’t know if that has to do with our water or whatever the ready to feed is made with. Baby didn’t seem to pick up on the difference 😊

hey! Thank you for the details, did you find any difference in taste. Powder tasted more fishy to me 🥴

Yep used it to Gideon for 1 month no difference

Hi I’m currently on my first tub of enfamil powder right now and I’d say everything is normal with my baby when it comes to pooping & feeding. And as soon as we ran out of ready to feed, I did use powder right away. I didn’t alternate or mix! But it still depends with your baby since mine is fine with switching formulas too. Hope this helps!

oh I see thank you. I thought my baby would pickup that taste and reject it, I haven’t tried it on my baby, lets see if he likes it.

I’m currently using Enfamil A+DHA plus

I started out with the powder and switched to the concentrated kind (where you add water)
I know what you mean, the powder kind does seem to have a different smell to it. I like the liquid kind though, because then you don't have to worry about shaking the bottle like crazy to make sure there is no powder left. And then that creates bubbles in the bottle

Hi, when is the best time to transition from ready to feed to powder? My LO is 7 weeks old and thinking to transition at 9 weeks

I was told by a lactation consultants that you can do powder right from the beginning unless your LO is immunocomprimised or premature - apparently the ready-to-feed to a certain age is old info

We tried giving our daughter enfamil ready to feed mixed with the powder (under advisement from a dietician, she's a preemie so she needs a lot of extra calories to catch up) and we found that Enfamil smells the worst and stains the worst. The smell is kinda wheat-y and fishy, the stains from her spit ups are an orangey-brown. We ended up going with GoodStart, it doesn't smell as bad and doesn't stain nearly as horrendously

Swaddle Transition

Hey moms! 🤍

My name is Gabi, and I’m a first-time mom. My baby will be 7 weeks old tomorrow, and recently I’ve noticed that when he’s swaddled, he keeps escaping and wakes up with one or sometimes both arms out.

I did a little research and saw a lot of recommendations for the Love to Dream swaddle. I understand the concept, but I’m not sure I love it for my baby. I also came across a couple of other transitional swaddles on Amazon—the Omni Swaddle Sack and the 4-Way Houdini-Proof Swaddle Sack—but now I’m second-guessing what to choose.

Before swaddling, we were co-sleeping, and he actually slept really well on his belly. Even now, he seems most comfortable napping on his belly.

I’d love to hear your experiences or recommendations—what worked for your babies during this transition?

Co-sleeping

Have tried to put baby in the next to me but he is refusing. He is currently sleeping in the najell sleep carrier between me and my husband. Any advice? Co-sleeping is making me anxious!

Earlier bedtime

What time do you put your baby to bed?

I keep seeing that putting them to bed earlier makes them sleep longer? Has anyone tried this? What’s your experience

Would you take your baby put of the car seat in traffic

We were driving home from pur vacation and at the end our baby was seriously crying. We were stuck in traffic, so i took the baby out of the car seat (i was sitting in the back next to it) and put it back when we were moving faster again. Would you bave done that? Have you been in a similar situation before?

Poop

How long is the longest your breastfed babies have gone without pooping? My newborn is on 10 days now with no poop, we’ve been prescribed lactulose and she’s had a days worth of doses already, just wondering if 10 days is normal. Just worried somethings wrong. She’s not crying or in pain, her belly is soft and not distended. The dr didn’t seem to suggest how long to wait before calling back and getting a referral to the peds doctor. I’m doing the bicycle kicks and massaging her belly but nothing seems to be working. So just looking for some advice really.
