Reflux milk and bottle teat sizes

Hey mammas!

Just wondered if anyone is using cow and gate reflux milk and mam bottles? If so what size teats are you using?

Our little girl is on infant Gaviscon and size 1 teats atm and it’s working for her but wanted to give the reflux milk a go as the Gaviscon a bit of a nightmare to get prescribed so some days she goes without and is in pain.

Just wanted to know what teat sizes I should buy before I get the milk ☺️

she’s had tongue tie so even though she’s 3 months old she’s only on size 1 as she’s still learning 😭 just know the milk is thicker but wanted to know what level it even comes out at 😂

Maybe just purchase 1 pack of the size 2 teats and see how you get on? It will just have to be trial and error and some extra washing up/ sterilising 🙈 x

I am in the exact same position! Drs gave me infant gaviscon and I swear it made it 10x worse. So I’ve gone back to the reflux milk. I use size 2 teets for all my bottles and me LO is absolutely fine x

haha yes luckily we have some size 2 because she drinks so much so we are on the big bottles 😂

do you find the reflux milk helps? She’s really gotten on well with the Gaviscon but they literally only give us 4 days worth at a time and I can’t stand to watch her in pain when they faff about with re-prescribing it for her 😭 ah perfect was worried it would be too thick for the 2 x

Is reflux milk thicker? We’ve formula fed with thickener before for reflux.
We used carobel. Because it thickens a size 2 teat was needed.

I believe it’s thickened with carobel looking at the packet! Ah perfect luckily I have some size two at home ☺️

we had this problem. Gaviscon seemed to work for 3 days then things went down hill really quickly. We went back to the doctors and they prescribed Omepizol which seems to be working better than the Gaviscon

it helps soooo much with my boy, he throws up a little but honestly nothing compared to what it was with normal milk and gaviscon. That’s so stupid, when I got given the gaviscon it was for 2 weeks worth.

Beware that if you do use the reflux milk it might make her comstipated, that’s the only issue with having the reflux milk so I’ve had to be prescribed lactulose to help him poo x

I think it worked a day for us which was nice for that day but ever since then it just hasn’t worked which is annoying.

O would try size 2 and I believe the milk is slightly thicker with the gaviscon? She will struggle with the size 1's I think, my girl has just gone on to size 2 mam teats this week with normal milk and is doing fab with them

My wee boy is on size 2 teats, 9 weeks old has reflux and had a tongue tie which he got cut last week.

We were on gaviscon but it made him worse so doctors prescribed omaprazol

Autism

I have been noticing everyone I know that as a boy 2-5 years has been diagnosed with autism. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe I’m just noticing this out of concern for my 10 month old boy.

Swing or bassinet

We've been co-sleeping/bed-sharing with our one month old (5 weeks tomorrow) since she and I came home from the hospital. While I love the cuddles I do want our bed back too. I will add too, that we try to make it as safe as possible and want her in a safe situation. She doesn't like sleeping by herself, however we've been putting her in her swing (pic below) close to daily, since she came home and at first she only liked it for a few minutes, now it could be an hour, before she protests, asleep or awake! She likes the music and rocking motion it seems and seems fascinated by the mobile when she's awake and not sleepy. We can probably get her used to the bassinet in a similar way, but I'm wondering if we should just get two of these? My husband says the music would drive him crazy, lol, but we could just do it with white noise and see if it has the same effect. He's saying it's probably good for her to learn how to sleep in different conditions. I do agree, as our older daughter can't take naps at friends' houses and stuff. Just not sure of the best route here. Anyway tia!

How often is your baby waking up in the night?

My baby is 5 months old and waking up every 3 hours. Some nights he could do a 4 hour stretch and some he would do just 2. It’s a bit all over the place to be honest. Is it normal for so many wake ups at this age? What is everyone else’s baby doing?

How do you cosleep?

I know all about sleep safe 7, the dangers of cosleeping etc etc, but there seems to be a huge difference between online and people I meet in real life. Most people I know report cosleeping, but online its villainised more.
No judgement here - I'm just genuinely curious what people are actually doing!

Comments if its something different.

Our baby has her own cot. She sleeps well in it until early morning and then only sleeps if shes on/next to me. I'll also admit to having fallen asleep breastfeeding several times (no lectures, she's safe - but other people have said they've done the same).
