Affection From Dads

What’s your opinion on a Dad hugging or kissing a son on the forehead? To me it’s Normal there’s nothing wrong with it… my kids dad POV is that “hugging my son teaches him that it’s okay for him to hug another man and will lead my son become gay from that in the future” Somebody let me know your opinion

@Francesca That’s what I tell him but it’s still considered unethical to him

Nope it will only show him dad loves him . . .

Are you allowed to show affection to your daughter, or will that turn her into a lesbian? Or is that acceptable? 🙄 He sounds like an ignorant, unfrosted Poptart.

@Courtney 🤣 that’s a good observation I guess we’ll never know

Dads showing affection to their son is completely normal. My husband kisses our son's head and cheek and hugs and tells him he loves him every chance he gets. It doesn't mean ur son will turn gay cuz of it, besides he should love ur son even if he grows up bein gay, that's his son and he should love him no matter what.

Generational trauma right there. That’s a man whose father didn’t show him affection or didn’t allow him to have emotions because “it’s gay”.

"Not showing your son affection will cause deep rooted emotional issues that may ruin his relationships and self esteem in the future" would be my response.

I think it’s totally normal and should happen. I think maybe you should sit down with him and talk it out. And seems like maybe he has some problems in that area or something like that. That he could use someone to talk to and maybe even counseling. Having affection from a persons parent isn’t just gonna make someone turn gay.

Ugh! What a hard thing he must have had from his dad. There’s no research to show that kids are taught or conditioned to be their future. If that’s all he knows I get how he might feel that way, but encourage him to show affection different ways. Idk if you are together but hug him often if you are. He’s not correct, but I won’t label him a bad dad for something he may have grown up with.

@Courtney unfrosted poptart 🤣🤣🤣🤣 never heard that before.

Nah that’s pure love, not showing him anything like teaching him to be gay. Boys need that love and affection from their fathers too. It will build a better solid confident little man.

💯 it will just show you son that dad loves him. And in my experience once they are teenagers they will just stop for a while. My brother 50 still hugs my dad and he is straight. Sexual preferences are not something parents can control.

Oh man. What is it with some men having this mindset? They’re kids!

@Mimi Jen Hamilton on TikTok has a bunch of insults like that. 😂 She has a video she posted recently on how to formulate one. Another favorite is soggy waffle. 😂

@Courtney i need to look her up. Thanks!

Woah, that’s a terrible mindset 😒 hugging your children and letting them know you love them is so important for their development and how they show affection in the future. Hugging your family doesn’t make you gay, being gay isn’t a choice either it’s just how you were born

@Katie mine too. Now our oldest boy who will be 13 soon he will hug. And make sure he expresses his love. But the baby boy he hugs and kisses him all the time lol
