How do you know when to move up a teat size?

I’m so clueless about all this- what are the signs we need to go up to size 2? The bottle has been clicking when she’s suckling, and she does seem to get upset during a feed but she does suffer with trapped wind and reflux so unsure if it’s that?!

Honestly just trial it. My baby was guzzling bottles and the size 2 bottles were from 2 months plus so I just upped it at 2 months and it’s been a lot better! She used to fall asleep during a feed but now she is able to drink more due to the faster flow. It took a bit of getting used to so if your baby has trapped wind and reflux sit her completely upright for the first few days or feeds to minimalise any discomfort for her as the flow is a bit faster than what they’re used to x

You’ll notice your wee one getting more tired during feeds and maybe only taking an oz or two then going back to it after 10 minutes and repeat as they’re getting to tired sooking out of a tiny hole, or you can go up with months as that’s when the teet size gets bigger, I just okay by ear

My little girl was falling asleep during feeds, she was sucking so hard but not taking much milk and it wore her out. I switched to 0month, vari flow teats a few weeks ago & it was much better. She’s 9 weeks now x

Bottled milk rules

It’s been 17 years since my last child was born 😅 I’m due in a few weeks and am confused about the rules to bottle feeding.
I used to boil water and make bottles without the milk, then when needed, I poured the milk in when the water was room temperature and that was it.
Is that ok?
I don’t want to make my bottles up and put in the fridge to then have to warm up a bit. I also don’t want to make bottles as I need them.
What if I’m out and about all day like at a park? Surely I can pour the milk when needed at room temperature?

Colostrum

Hi ladies, I am 37+1 and started collecting colostrum yesterday. With my husband there it was easy for him to collect with the syringe but today doing it alone with the syringe led to me spilling half of it which was soul destroying! Has anyone got any tips on how to collect and not spill when alone?

Nursery with a breastfed contact baby

So today my daughter started nursery officially. She's 10.5 months old, exclusively breastfed and a contact baby day and night. Shes also the most social happiest baby ever.

Nap time was to be expected. She was easy to bounce to sleep, but impossible to transfer so only managed a 20 minute morning nap. She drank no milk from the bottle or cup, but was fantastic with her solids and ate all her lunch.

She only had a half day 8:30 till 1, but fell asleep in the buggy within minutes of leaving.

Those of you with a breastfed contact baby who is impossible to transfer and attends nursery, how is it going? Are your babies struggling? Does it get better? She'll start full days eventually but I'm just worried that she wont get any sleep.

Changing from bassinet to pram seat

Just curious… when did everyone change from the bassinet fixture of the pram to the seat? My son is almost 4 months old but isn’t sitting independently yet (but has almost outgrown the bassinet size). When out with him in the bassinet he barely sleeps anymore as he is so curious of what is going on around him, so I just end up carrying him. Is 4 months too soon to change him over??
It’s also bittersweet the idea of changing it as it mean he’s no longer a tiny baby 😅

Baby Constipation

Willing to try anything at this point if anyone has any suggestions 😩 my little guy who is 7 months old started having some issues with bowel movements approx. 3 weeks ago. His poops were becoming more firm and harder for him to get out. I ensure he drinks enough fluids, we do regular exercises & tummy massages, he’s on a probiotic and sees a chiropractor weekly.

I started giving him prunes and other fibrous foods, reducing any foods harder to digest which still did not help. After 2 weeks of him screaming in pain every time he tried to release anything, often disrupting his sleep, I took him to the doctor. They suggested restoralax and a suppository. The suppository helped him have a few good poops for 24 hrs and we are back to square one, if not worse 😔

Open to any tips before we go back to the doctor. He is so exhausted from not sleeping properly (as am I). My heart breaks seeing him in so much pain and not being able to offer anything other than comfort.

vaccinations

Can I hear people advice on vaccinations? My whole family is anti-vax, and i don't really think I align with that 😅 Im totally prepared to be judged by them for it, just want what's best for my baby. I'm 37 weeks pregnant, is it smart to vaccinate my baby? Should I delay it?

I've heard there's also ways to do it 1-2 vaccines at a time to prevent sickness. I'd love to hear peoples experiences and advice please!!!

I also have younger siblings from my dad's new marriage, they are 6, 9, and 11, and none are vaccinated. Should i let them around my newborn???
