Can anyone tell me about their experience about their antenatal care and delivery in the hospitals in the region.

My care was brilliant with Oswestry midwifes scans at Shrewsbury and gave birth at Telford xx

I'm in care at the Royal Shrewsbury and will also be giving birth in Telford as the Royal does not have a maternity birth wing, just the scan and booking appt facilities and ER. So far care has been great, also been able to reach the midwifes whenever needed (read other trusts weren't as easy to contact). So far im happy about it.

There is only one hospital to give birth in in the trust as far as I know. Had my baby in Telford last November and the care excellent. It’s a new wing so nice and clean and modern. They have the midwife led rooms on the floor below and the consultant wing above, both really nice. Scans were mostly at Shrewsbury/ Telford and staff were lovely but parking was a nightmare and scanning machines where always down! I’m not based in Shrewsbury so my midwife appointments weren’t there so can’t speak for that side but on the whole I’d say the care was good. Follow up post natal care isn’t so great but again that’s probably because we are in the sticks so beyond the few appointments you get right afterwards you won’t get to see a health visitor without there being a major concern. That said if there are any issues/ concerns we always got appointments/ calls immediately so less choice than London but maybe less waiting

Hi lovely. I had all my check ups at Oswestry and Shrewsbury hospital. So my check ups, baby weight, heartbeat, any antenatal care was oswestry and I cannot fault the midwives there, always attended to my needs amazing. All my scans in Shrewsbury, also great! They sent me for multiple growth scans and because I was high risk I also had my consultant appointments there. They really put my mind at ease as I had a planned c section the second time around due to a emergency section the first time and quite a horrific/traumatic labour with my first. I had both by babies at Telford hospital. The care and compassion they had towards me was great! I was so nervous the second time around, especially as I had my first during lockdown. I would recommend Telford 100%!
