How to count DPO

Hi Ladies, could you please help me define DPO correctly? I had a trigger shot on Wednesday 12am. I ovulated on Friday, from 12pm to 12am (the second half of the day). Today is Saturday. Am I DPO1 or DPO3? When you track ovulation based on LH surge, how do you define DPO? My understanding is that ovulation does not happen right after the surge. I will take 24-48 hours for the egg to be ready. Then do you subtract 2 days from the surge day? Thank you!

Dpo1 on Saturday if you ovulated friday

I always count it as the day after I have ovulate xx

I’d say 1 dpo. I ovulated Friday (well my LH surge peak was Thursday) and today (Monday) I am 3dpo. Checking on Premom where my ovulation tests are logged,that’s also saying I’m 3dpo so I’m the same day as you it sounds like 🙂
