Waiting for an induction call from the general -how long?

I was due to be induced with my little girl due to gestational diabetes - she’s now 8 weeks old but they didn’t have any capacity to induce even though I was 4th on the list. I ended up having a successful sweep 2 days after the induction was due and I went into labour naturally at home. They said it could be a week ti have a bed. It’s so deflating calling up and being told no but I’d rather be at home than in hospital waiting for a bed. Hope it’s not too long for you x

I know im not answering ur question but it depends how busy they r on the day. I was induced at the lri, phoned at 8am, no space. Had to keep phoning thru the day, finally told to go in for 9pm. Was admitted to a ward to wait for space on delivery suite to have my waters broken. Went in on the Monday, got space on delivery suite mid morning Thursday! It was a tough wait lol. Hope u get in quickly

you had to wait in the hospital for 3 days? I'm booked to have an induction at lri and they already told me theres already a 4/5 day waiting time 😥

Yep, they wouldn't let me go home as I had a lot of excess fluid, so was a risk if my waters went on their own. Plus baby's growth had slowed right down so they wanted me there ready for as soon as there was space.

@Chloe can confirm this is accurate. I'm here now, came in on Saturday morning at 9am. Still waiting for a bed on delivery. Staff are working their socks off and I'm so well looked after, but yes... its a long process x

I was sent home today as it was too busy to induce me! I've been told to wait by the phone to come in, does anyone have any experience on how long this usually takes or should I keep calling myself? Thanks!

@Shannen Headley this doesn't surprise me. I'm on day 4 now. I've been told I'm still on the list, its mental busy with inductions. X

Oh nooo! Is this your first baby? I guess I'll be playing the waiting game too. Hope it just happens naturally in the mean time!

@Shannen Headley it is my first baby. And I've just spotted you booked at General, apologies, I'm in LRI, but my midwife told me this morning it's bonkers there too, and they'd closed off admissions today. Apparently this happens every year, September babies, lots of them... we all get too excited around Xmas 😆 x
