Anyone 1-2 weeks PP and pumping?

What’s your pumping schedule like and how much milk are you producing? I am pumping on average 6-7x/day and I haven’t reached 10 ounces yet. I am using the Spectra S2 with the correct flange, I’m hydrating and taking some supplements as well. Not sure if my production is normal or not 🤷🏻‍♀️

Are you also nursing? That really affects the output. I was just told by my hospital's lactation consultant that my daughter born Aug 19th needs 18oz a day.

Newborns feed 8-12x a day, so if you're exclusively pumping, you'll need to pump that many times.

1-2 weeks pp I was pumping every 2-3 hours and would pump 6oz per session. (Sessions lasted 20-40 minutes)
Then I switched to a new pump around 3-4 weeks postpartum and have been pumping 10-15oz per session. In the beginning I was pumping consistently every 2-3 hours but recently I haven’t been on schedule and my supply has dropped. (I’m currently 7weeks pp)
Your supply is normal baby should be drinking 1-2oz per feeding, maybe even less.
I’m not on a diet but I do drink about a half gallon of water per day.
If baby is gaining weight and making lots of poopy and wet diapers, then you’re doing amazing keep up the good work mama

I don’t think so
They had me pump a couple hours after my son was born, but he has a hard time latching

it really depends. If the baby gains weight well and milk is in from birth, then no, it's not recommended to pump. Both of my rainbow babies had weight gain issues due to tongue ties, so an IBCLC told me to pump to protect my supply while my LO learns to latch better.

she was born 8/20. First two days I was combo feeding. Nothing was coming out when I was pumping until the third day when I started using my pump. I was making about 4 ounces per day of colostrum. It continued to rise during the transition milk and then once the regular milk came in, the output very slowly increased.

thank you! My sessions last not even 10 minutes. My morning pump is about 3 ounces and then it just dwindles down throughout the day and as low as less than 1 ounce. She eats on average 8-10x a day about 2 oz. My supply is definitely not enough so I have to supplement with formula. This is my third pregnancy and this is the most production I’ve had. I’m thinking there might be something going on 🤷🏻‍♀️

definitely increase the time to at least 15 minutes. I'd talk to a lactation consultant if output doesn't increase.

there’s a lactation consultant at the peds office. I had 2 appointments with her so far. She said I’m doing good but I don’t think I am. Next appt she’s going to weigh the baby first, then have me nurse her and then weigh her again. She did say to try and nurse whenever I can as it’d help with the hormones. Her latch on my right breast is terrible and is painful when she nurses.

she also said the pumping session would be done when almost no more milk comes out. I use heat and massage the breasts to make sure I empty out as much as I can.

That is a great job! Believe in yourself!

Should my 4 almost 5 week old have a bedtime?

My baby girl will be 5 weeks on Tuesday (28th), she’s breastfed and sleeps well mostly but is usually up every 2-3 hours for a feed. I haven’t noticed a routine and has been co/sleeping for the last 2 weeks as she got a little cold and fusses a lot now when I try to put her in the sleepyhead. I’m not sure if the cold is what’s thrown everything off but should she have a bedtime or routine by now? I just go by her and what she wants at the moment…

9 week old sleeping through the night

For the past 2 nights my baby has slept through the night 😱
Yesterday she lasted 7h since the last feed until she woke up asking for food and today it's been 8h.
She got her jabs on Wednesday and she's been eating a little bit less (normally 730-820ml per day and for the past 4 days only about 700ml). Should I be concerned? She's otherwise very good, plenty of wet nappies and super alert when awake. I still feed her the same amount of times, just offering it more frequently

Just sharing

I have an almost 9 week old baby, and she never slept independently since day 1. I tried putting her on her crib for nap times during the day but not even 20 mins and she is going to wake up, same at night. She will just sleep if she is in her carrier, or we are in bed but I should be beside her. I feel like I’m doing something wrong.

Anyone awake?

It’s one of the hard nights when baby won’t go to sleep, my partner does the first part of the night (usually until 4am), at 2am he was desperate because baby won’t sleep at all. He changed him 3 times and fed him a whole bottle of formula. I got up and breastfed him once at 2am and now I’m currently breastfeeding again. I feel like this baby won’t let us sleep tonight so just wanted to see if anyone is in the same situation.
This too shall pass. ✨

Breastfeeding with piercings?

I am 34 weeks along and my midwife told me if I want to breastfeed I should take my piercings out now, but when I had a home visit with a nurse she said I shouldnt have to take them out except when feeding or pumping. So I am just curious if there are any moms who have their nipples pierced who have been either breastfeeding or pumping and what's been your experience so far?

Night Time Nappy Leaks - Size 4, 4+ or 5 for a 6.5 Month-Old Side Sleeper

My 6.5 month old girl wears Aldi size 4+ nappies, and they seem perfectly fine during the day.

However, for the last two nights she has peed through her clothes and onto the bedding. She mainly sleeps on her side or tummy. Should I switch back to size 4 nappies for night time, or move up to size 5 instead?
