Mother’s Milk Tea?

I am 2 weeks PP and I’m not making even 1/2 of what my baby needs. Yesterday I was giving up and wanted to stop pumping altogether. But I’m not ready to give up just yet. I am already taking Fenugreek and Milk Thistle but just one capsule each per day as written on the bottle. Should I increase those? I’m also trying to hydrate as much as I can tolerate and I am also eating oat bars. I’d like to give Mother’s Milk Tea a try even though I despise tea!

Can some of you share your experiences with Mother’s Milk Tea?
Did it increase or decrease your supply?
How often did you drink it?

I'd stop taking fenugreek. That's known to decrease supply in about half of women. It works too well for me so I get clogs but for others it starts to dry them up.

Were you measured for your flanges? Are you EP or are you nursing as well? Because for the first few weeks babies cluster feed as they're trying to tell your body what their milk needs are.

I had used the mother's milk tea. Usually took about an hour to kick in, but making sure you have enough water especially when drinking that tea is important. It did increase enough for me personally. I usually used it when my period returned, my supply always seemed to drop then.

I take supplements called “pumping moms” but stork I take 4 a day but u can take up to 6. They have seemed to help a lot. Also flange size, pumping every 2-3 hours, 16 cups of water a day, and power pumping when needed. It’s a job but u got this don’t give up 🙌

I think it helped me some. Try legendary milk supplements if you haven’t already. I hear this stuff is amazing!

where did you get this information from? I’ve been trying to look it up and all I’m finding is that women get increase. My body isn’t typical so I usually get opposite effects with supplements and medications lol I’m kinda EP. Depending on how the day is going especially with my toddler will dictate what I do.

Here's some info from a Lactation Consultant on fenugreek

Have you seen a Lactation Consultant? What makes you think you're not producing enough?

Oh so are you feeding on demand or because of the toddler you don't have that ability? That really is the way to increase supply. Supplements are fine but it's mostly a placebo effect as you're either taking in more water or calories with the food ones.

I agree an LC is the best person to go to as they will be able to give you personalized care

I definitely do not have the ability to nurse on demand. I have been incorporating a few nursing sessions during the day while my husband ensures toddler is taken care of. The ped we see is also an LC. The weird part is that it took 2 days for colostrum to come in but I was getting on average 4oz per day of straight colostrum. Then it kept on increasing with the transitional milk and then once it got to regular milk I almost like plateaued. At the first visit with the LC she said 4oz was really good. At the second, I told her I’m seeing a very slow rise. We’re seeing her again on Wednesday 🤞🏻

If you want to breastfeed, you need to nurse on demand. That's what tells your body to make milk. There's absolutely no substitute for it.

Baby will feed 1-2 hourly plus cluster feed. If you don't nurse directly, you'd need to pump 2 hourly around the clock to get milk up, and pumping is much more time consuming than feeding directly.

Put hubby on toddler duty and get set up with baby.

And stop the fenugreek.

I had success with Boobie Bikkies but they can boost you but it's still not going to work if you're not stimulating your supply.

Should my 4 almost 5 week old have a bedtime?

My baby girl will be 5 weeks on Tuesday (28th), she’s breastfed and sleeps well mostly but is usually up every 2-3 hours for a feed. I haven’t noticed a routine and has been co/sleeping for the last 2 weeks as she got a little cold and fusses a lot now when I try to put her in the sleepyhead. I’m not sure if the cold is what’s thrown everything off but should she have a bedtime or routine by now? I just go by her and what she wants at the moment…

9 week old sleeping through the night

For the past 2 nights my baby has slept through the night 😱
Yesterday she lasted 7h since the last feed until she woke up asking for food and today it's been 8h.
She got her jabs on Wednesday and she's been eating a little bit less (normally 730-820ml per day and for the past 4 days only about 700ml). Should I be concerned? She's otherwise very good, plenty of wet nappies and super alert when awake. I still feed her the same amount of times, just offering it more frequently

Just sharing

I have an almost 9 week old baby, and she never slept independently since day 1. I tried putting her on her crib for nap times during the day but not even 20 mins and she is going to wake up, same at night. She will just sleep if she is in her carrier, or we are in bed but I should be beside her. I feel like I’m doing something wrong.

Anyone awake?

It’s one of the hard nights when baby won’t go to sleep, my partner does the first part of the night (usually until 4am), at 2am he was desperate because baby won’t sleep at all. He changed him 3 times and fed him a whole bottle of formula. I got up and breastfed him once at 2am and now I’m currently breastfeeding again. I feel like this baby won’t let us sleep tonight so just wanted to see if anyone is in the same situation.
This too shall pass. ✨

Breastfeeding with piercings?

I am 34 weeks along and my midwife told me if I want to breastfeed I should take my piercings out now, but when I had a home visit with a nurse she said I shouldnt have to take them out except when feeding or pumping. So I am just curious if there are any moms who have their nipples pierced who have been either breastfeeding or pumping and what's been your experience so far?

Night Time Nappy Leaks - Size 4, 4+ or 5 for a 6.5 Month-Old Side Sleeper

My 6.5 month old girl wears Aldi size 4+ nappies, and they seem perfectly fine during the day.

However, for the last two nights she has peed through her clothes and onto the bedding. She mainly sleeps on her side or tummy. Should I switch back to size 4 nappies for night time, or move up to size 5 instead?
