Natural šŸ˜‘šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Can everyone please remember that every birth is NATURAL wether it be vaginal or c section. It really bugs me when I see people write they had a ā€˜natural’ birth and then go on to talk about their stitches ect obviously talking about a vaginal birth. Some people didn’t get the chance to have the births we wanted and ended in a c section (myself included). This can really hurt someones feelings and it can be quite triggering especially to those who had a traumatic birth. All births are natural but the main thing is that all babies are born safely no matter how it’s done ā¤ļø

I had a vaginal birth twice and honestly I take my hat off to c section mums, the thought of it terrifies me, the healing that comes with it I couldn't cope, but yes I agree any birth regardless is natural, there seems to be alot of stigma around sections and being "the easy way out" I certainly don't see it that way

Well exactly! I had a slight traumatic birth as I was in hospital for an induction, was there for over 24hrs, 3 gels later (which are, well in my case anyway excruciating), I never got into labour, my cervix didnt even get to 1cm and I had to have a section. Now I loved every min of the section and i’s absolutely do it again but i’m now left with an horrible overhang that i’m trying to shift. It’s no easy way out at all x

That’s true…I had c-section because of blood pressure shooting up..and baby’s position is transverse…everyone have different situations.

I think it’s a lack of awareness.
I had a c-section with my son 10 years ago and then when I got pregnant with my daughter, I ā€˜wrongly’ said to the midwife that I’d like to try for a natural birth and she rightly corrected me and said ā€˜are you talking about a vaginal birth as all births are natural’. I genuinely hadn’t even thought about it x

I’m a Caesarian mum but elective so I chose that route. I really don’t mind what people call my birth, I personally think there was very little natural about mine and that’s perfect cause I didn’t want ā€œnaturalā€ šŸ˜‚ I love my sunroof baby and her emergency exit door scar.

I don’t like the weaponised use though I see a lot here, mums being made to feel bad for their choices or medical route needed.

If you went ā€œnaturalā€ on your kitchen floor, you’re incredible and that’s an unreal job mama. If you went for every drug in the pharmacy, you’re incredible and well done mama.

Only thing that matters is mum and baby are safe at the end of the day xx

i think at the end of the day terminology is just terminology people use not necessarily meant to offend anyone. the problem is when people use that terminology to judge and mock others. i think Sarah’s comment explained it perfectly!

I work in operating theatres and learnt very quickly (before the birth of my daughter) that a c section is BRUTAL. I had a vaginal birth but like others have said, hats off to c section mamas - it’s major surgery that takes a long time to recover from! X

One thing that blows my mind is mothers who cant just say vaginal birth like we're kids still. We have kids we are the adults now šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I had an emergency section it definitely doesn’t make it any less hard (in some ways) as was in Labour and pain all day before it and it does make me sad knowing I didn’t have a normal birth but it isn’t natural at all so I don’t think I can call a c section natural. But should still be proud as it wasn’t easy either and certainly not the healing process which made things a lot harder ! X

I had an emergency c section after being in labor for 21 hours after being induced
Goodness me I think that is even worse than a vaginal birth as I suffered double
I honestly feel robbed of my vaginal birth that i wanted as i am a FTM but im just glad me and my baby made it out safe and also my scar is proof of the sacrifice that i made to ensure my baby’s safety as I really wanted to experience a vaginal birth

While I do understand your point, natural means derived from nature, without being caused or made by man kind.. so a spontaneous vaginal birth with no pain relief or intervention (like induction) would be natural.

I didn’t have a natural birth. I had a vaginal birth with pain relief and induction. I didn’t get the birth I wanted, I wanted a natural birth but nature wasn’t progressing me but my waters had broken. All births are normal and equal but they’re not all natural.. by definition.

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient šŸ˜‚šŸ„²
