Why are these baby showers so damn expensive!!!!

What! My budget is $600, and I'm splitting that cost with my boyfriend! $300 for venue, $200 for food and $100 for decorations. We are keeping decorations very simple because the venue we chose is really beautiful as-is.

Having it at my dad's house, and seriously if I was in charge of food it would be like nachos and some sides, fruit etc. A few key decor items. The shower is supposed to help you, not deplete your savings or put you in debt ❤️❤️❤️

I have my aunt's bringing dishes to help with food. The venue free and the decorations are going to be super simple

My sister is paying for mine, which has been helpful but it's still expensive & I feel guilty for letting her pay for it. Event space was $420, cake is $200, she's spent like $300 on decorations & prizes for games. It's becoming alot 😬 & the worst feeling is she's paying for something she won't be able to attend 😕

my venue alone was $850🥺 plus food decorations games drinks ugh i havent even gotten that yet. i get it. i feel like it’s expensive and i’m doing the bare minimum 😭

lmao I would if I could! But the house we have is too far out to drive for one day and I don’t even trust everybody’s cooking or hygiene enough to eat like that!

fr! Somebody understands! If I could keep it simple and not cheap looking or feeling I would but I’ve been to too many ghetto functions can’t and won’t do it and this is scaling down if I could it would be free at a park but unfortunately this is a winter baby

My venue charges $40 per hour for weekdays and $55 per hour for weekends. Maybe you should look into a cheaper venue?

that’s crazy! And right my husband and I are working it out between us as far as cost because my family damn near went broke for our wedding.

I'm 40 and this is my first.. money is so tight.. I am soooo thankful my step mom and father are going to gift the majority cost of the venue and food. I will pay for decor, prizes and invitations. Otherwise I was going to borrow someone's house to host it in lol

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

Hi, my little boys height is 77.5cm. Doctors seem concerned and are looking at investigating, anyone else been through similar? He’s 20 pounds also. He’s 19 months old

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
