I’m not sure if it’s blood? It’s like slimy consistency. My baby just recovered from covid, I’m not sure if I should be concerned

Has your baby eaten anything lately that was red or orange? Maybe an oral medicine that was red/cherry flavored?

Yes Tylenol to control the fever for covid

Could that be it?

I just noticed it was cherry flavored but no dye but the ibuprofen is pink

Tylenol can cause a clay colored stool (more of a copper color and thats what It looks like in the picture) when given to babies. I’m no expert and not sure what side effects it would give to a baby that had COVID, but thats what I had found online. I would definitely call their pediatrician and see if they could give you a more clearer answer.

Thank you Claudia that gives me a little peace of mind! He’s not hurting or anything, I will ask his pediatrician tomorrow! Thank you so so much for your reply

I’m glad I could help!

My sons stool looks like this when we have him the Tylenol without dye or sometimes when he eats stuff that’s colored orange or red.. I freaked out too when it first happened. I’d call pediatrician for more answers if it happens again or just concerns you in general. That’s just what it looks like to me.

My daughter had this exact thing, right around 13 mos old. Doctor said it was due to change in diet, and nothing to worry about.

Thank you ladies !!
