Constipation relief

This is quite embarrassing, but I’ve been struggling with constipation and am now getting haemorrhoids. I’m using cream and started taking constipation relief tablets from Asda, but they seem to work a little bit TOO well - I’ll take one and have diarrhoea the next day, so don’t take any more and then go straight back to being constipated. Feel like I need a bit of middle ground - can anyone recommend a stool softener?

Go to your doctor! Don’t buy any medication without speaking to your doctor as some tablets can be harmful to you and baby.
Lactulose is the usual relief they suggest but make sure you consult the doctor first x

Try lactulose, or orange juice, prunes, dates as a natural softener xx

See the GP - I had awful fissures with my first due to constipation. They can prescribe Laxido or Movicol which are softener drinks and really help! ☺️

Yup. Talk to your gp, bearing in mind that you might need to change the laxative a couple of times
I was first prescribed Molaxole.. and like in your case it worked a bit too well, not causing diarrhea though, just toilet breaks 6-7 times a day.. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I was then given Lactulose (AND glycerin suppositories just in case)
Lactulose seems to be working milder, but still effectively.

Magnesium supplements!!!!! I got some from Wild Nutrition and they’ve absolutely saved me! Lactulose caused me hell - they can give you gas and my god it was 2 of the worst days of my life until I realised what was causing it! 🤪

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
