Moving to 2 naps

Hey! Just wondering if anyones babies have moved from 3 to 2 naps? I'm hoping it will help with night time sleep.
Is it necessary at his age, do you think it will help, any tips on how to do it?

Baby is 8 months and has never been a great night time sleeper but loves a nap!

We've naturally transitioned to 2 naps over the last week or so and my boy basically just did it himself because he wanted to be awake so much more. I now just give him a morning and afternoon nap, making sure he's up from his last nap in good time before he goes to bed 😊

We naturally have moved to 2 naps but my LB seems more unsettled as I think he’s more tired but then he still won’t go down for a 3rd nap😂 but he sleeps through for 12 hours xx

Thats really helpful... so best to wait until he wants to be up longer? How long would you say your babies are up before they want another nap @Carrie @Azaria?

Also, lol they love getting themselves over tired don't they?

My LG moved to 2 naps a little while ago now, she gets up at 8ish naps at 11/12 ish for about an hour then naps at 5ish for about an hour then goes to sleep between 8 and 9. Occasionally she will have an extra nap if she’s showing she’s tired or if we are off in the car. She her wake windows are 3-4 hours x

Mine dropped her 3rd nap herself a few months ago, night sleep didn’t massively improve she still wakes a few times a night with the off night where she’ll sleep through but getting her to sleep got easier

We've been on two naps for a month or so now. Works well for us and she goes to bed between 6-7pm (she's been unsettled at bed time recently, but that's to do with the leap rather than our routine) 😊

I usually follow the wake windows so from when he wakes up I usually leave it 2 hours then he’s ready for a nap (around 9am usually) then I’ll leave it 3 hours from when he wakes up until his 2nd nap of the day (usually 1pm). I just make sure to cut his naps at 3pm but he normally is awake by then anyway then he goes to bed at 7 xxxx

My son is dropping from 3 to 2 but honestly hasn’t made a difference to our night. We are still up 4-5 times a night.
Be led by your baby and their cues I would say x

This is such great advice everyone! Thanks!

Yeah baby naturally dropped a nap as wake windows are now 3-4 hrs instead of 2-3. She now has a mid morning and mid afternoon nap and goes to bed at around 730-8 and wakes up at 6am

Yeah she naturally seemed to transition over a week or so, her last nap always ended up being quite late and I couldn't fit in a third meal, then she started lengthening her naps herself and being awake a bit longer in between so now she has about an hour in the morning at 9.45am and around 1-1.5hours around 2/2.30. Often awake no later than 4pm and so been awake 3 hours or more by the time she goes to bed by 7pm and asleep within 5-10mins of putting her in the cot awake.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂

No more naps! 10 month old

For a few days now my 10m old has fought her 2 daily naps. Normally her wake windows were 3-4 hours and she is now eventually napping after a 6 hour wake window. Today was only one nap, she skipped the second one. Used to nap like clockwork so I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Also very unsettled most nights and doesn’t sleep well at all
