Everytime I look at my underwear there is wet patches , this has only just started happening over past day or 2. Is this just urine from baby getting heavy now? How can you tell the difference? Don't want to phone for a bit of incontinence 😂😂😂🙈

It could be discharge/ sweat/ wee but if it's something new maybe just call the day unit so you can go in and check is not amniotic fluid... apparently it smells sweet and if it starts leaking it won't stop, try putting in a pad/ panty liner to see how much liquid it actually is 😊

Put on a fresh pair of pants and pop a pad in - then maybe call triage and see what they say. It helps the midwives to be able to see/measure fluid ☺️

It’s definitely worth calling and chatting with your maternity triage and they can ask you to come in and check. This happened to me at 32 weeks and it was my waters leaking 🙈 I was admitted overnight just incase it was early labour. Still leaking now very slowly… just having to go in a few times a week for tests and monitoring.

I’ve put a pad on and still can’t tell the difference whether it’s wee or anything else.

I just talked to my ob about this yesterday. She recommended i put a pad on. If it is amniotic fluid it should completely soak the pad. It could be many other things like old discharge hanging around in your cervix, urine left behind in your bladder, and random discharge. But never be afraid to call them and let them know. Follow your gut

I’ve got exactly the same problem :/ I’m 33 weeks and honestly just assumed it’s poor pelvic floor as I’m getting more pressure and only really happens when I first stand up after going to the toilet or enroute to the toilet when I need to go…
same 🙈
how did they test ? X

They observe you vaginal with a speculum and take a swap. That’s how they determine whether it’s amniotic fluid or not. The difference between your waters and a bit of wee is that you could hold wee but not your waters coming out. Also, your water is very clear in colour. Like everyone else said, pop a pad in and observe.
I personally wouldn’t worry about a bit of leakage, but more when your underwear is soaked.

As the comment above, they use a speculum to take a look and swab to test (just like a smear, completely painless).
I will say it’s worth it regardless as I was only leaking slightly but it’s confirmed amniotic fluid there’s a risk of early labour/infection. I was told told sometimes it can ‘seal over’ but I haven’t so have slowly leaked for over 2 weeks and will probably continue to do so… but so far everything still looks ok when I go in for monitoring and tests a few times a week.
