Baby girl names!

Is anyone else really struggling with picking a name? I’m currently 31 weeks and I’m worried she won’t have a name when she arrives😂

We like names that are uncommon as don’t want there to be others in her class with the same name. Also her surname will be Turner which I think is quite masculine so want something super girly!

Our dog is called Truly and I almost wish I had kept that name for baby girl because I love it so much!

Picture added of baby girl! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated🫶🏼

I am in the same predicament. I am 32+3 and I had a boys name set out but no girls names.
I have liked but gone off all of the following:
Ava-grace
Novah
Nevaeh
Freya
Poppy
Amalie
Isabelle
Eva

Safe to say I’m totally confused on what I’m going to call her 🫣🤣

Love all those names! Especially Novah, that’s so pretty. I’m so glad it’s not just me. We were the same, just presumed we’d have a boy given my partner is 1 of 3 boys and his brothers both have boys! But seriously stuck when it comes to girls names!

Love those names!!! We had the same thing with boys names we liked. They were Teddy, Forrest and Rupert and all my family were like ‘nooo you can’t call them that’ and so when we found out it was a girl we haven’t told anyone our names! But I’m finding it really hard to find ‘the one’ and I am also the kind of person who likes to get other peoples opinions on things before I finalise so it’s really really tricky! I think all those names are beautiful, especially love Wynter!

We've picked out Eloise for our baby girl. My other two are called Evie & Elijah ❤️ have you tried googling for lists of rare/uncommon names? X

Avatar

I’ve always wished I was Eleanor rather than just Ellie so I liked Wynter/Winter being shortened to Winnie/Wynnie but it’s so hard if you don’t like the shorter version! That’s actually one of the names on our list. Another was Jamimah but I don’t like Jem/Jam at all so it’s so so tricky!x

Avatar

awh they are lovely names! I have done but think I will need to do some more googling. I loved Elodie but I think it’s too close to Ellie😂

Avatar

yeah it would prob get shortened to Ellie by most people wouldn't it! 😅. I tried to choose rare names myself as I hate my own name and how common it is (Rebecca)! I'm sure you'll find something, you never know, if you can't make up your mind, you may give birth to her, look at her and know what you want to call her then! 🥰

Avatar

Yeah that’s what I’m hoping! Luckily there was never too many Ellie’s at my school but my poor sister had 3 Leah’s in her class in infants and I would hate for my little girl to have that!x

Avatar

oh really! We had an Eleanor at school and she was Ellie and an Ellen that went by Elle! Yeah Wynter/Winter is lovely. I feel the same but I also don’t want to commit to something before seeing her because what if it just doesn’t suit her- I’m such an over thinker🤣 I loved Clementine/Clemmy but my boyfriend doesn’t like it. Even then I was thinking if she was born ginger then we couldn’t call her that😂x

I like Winslow, Rosalie, Jasmine, Astoria (Stori), Marigold (Goldie), Celeste, Magnolia (Maggie/Nola), Cassia, Opal, Indi/Indigo and Sienna

Avatar

Love love love these!! Cassia and Astoria are on our list also! Love Winslow and Rosalie- might have to suggest these to my boyfriend later🫶🏼

The little personalised bits😭 such a pretty name! I liked Elsie but again a bit too close to Ellie I think! Renee and Dulcie are also adorable xx

Someone I know has just had Tiggy which I think is cute and unusual

Avatar

oooh that is cute!!!

Love Angelina, it’s giving Angelina Ballerina 🩰

Avatar

that’s so true! I just don’t want to be one of those mums that correct people and I feel people choose nicknames themselves😂x

Avatar

Loved Elowyn but again thought it was too close to Ellie. Faelyn is beautiful! I haven’t heard of that before I’m obsessed😍

My first child is called Ophelia and we’re having a boy this time but if we were having a girl we were going to use the name Azalea x

so pretty!!

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
