Weaning & bottle feeding balance

How’s everyone balancing the milk feeds with solids? I have tried keeping solids twice a day so that she doesn’t drop her milk amount drastically but she’s just not interested in milk. However she’s been wanting more food so now we are on 3 times a day. This means she has the evening milk around 4.30pm, dinner at 6pm and last milk feed at 7.30-8pm. Although there’s enough gap between the solids & milk she’s barely having 90ml for the last feed of the night. Inadvertently she gets hungry by 12/2am and ends up having 180ml. Prior to this she would not need any milk between 8pm-7am (solids - once/twice a day)
Are you noticing similar behaviour?
In total she’s having about 650-750ml a day, wondering if this is sufficient?

My LG is the same, although she used to only have 500-650ml a day before weaning and now I’m lucky if she has 300ml in a day. We are on 3 meals a day too but luckily she will take a larger bottle just before bed.

Thanks Makes sense as they are fuller with solids but it’s this waking up in the middle of the night and then having disturbed sleep following that each night is soo exhausting! It’s probably another regression 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

How old is your LO? My girl had a sleep regression for 3 weeks from mid 5.5 months, she went from waking 1 time to 3/4 times. Now we’ve come out of it and she’s starting sleeping 8/9 hours before waking. Still have the odd night where she wakes more though. You’ll get through it soon

My little boy is having solids and drinking all his milk it may just be sleep regression

she’s just over 7 months and she did go through brief period of regression around 6 months. She’s now sleeping 7 hours in one go and 3-4 hours after the early morn feed. It started as a snack feed and now she has full 180-210ml during that which means she’s obviously not getting enough milk in the daytime. It’s just that she’s least interested in milk and loves to eat 😁 x

Thanks can you tell me when you offer the last feed and food for the day? And which order? Also how long does it take for the baby to fall asleep after the feed?
Mine just dozes off middle of the milk feed or cries if we get to feed her more x

We had it for a while where she had literally no milk because all she wanted was food. So I stopped giving her food for about 4/5 days. She then took about 800-900ml of milk in a day. Once she was back to taking more milk I started up food again, it has slowly dropped, but I really make a point of not giving her food until she has had some milk.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
