Anyone else unsure how to feel about their due date? I’m due Christmas Eve but am really nervous about a Christmas Day baby. I know it’s obviously not within my control but hoping I’m not the only one who feels like this? 🤍

I'm due 30th Dec and feel the same. I feel like it won't be a good birthday for them as they grow older but it's totally out of our control 🙈

I’m due NYE and I do worry about the baby coming early as I really don’t want her to be born on Christmas Day. She’ll never have a day that’s just about her if she’s born on the 25th. If she comes on her due date I’m alright with it. When she’s older I’m sure she’ll enjoy the nights out 😂

My mum was due on Xmas day with me but I held on until 4th January, have to admit its rubbish having a birthday so close to Xmas as nothing to look forward to for a whole year 🤣

My first baby was due Christmas day, he arrived 23rd December. I was very grateful, actually enjoyed my Christmas Dinner without indigestion! He will be 19 this year 🥲

Yess!! I'm due Christmas eve, at my last scan they dated me due 20th. I'm hoping she comes early or late as I really want her birthday to be about her if that makes sense. Plus I want to be able to enjoy my Christmas Dinner 😂

Exactly the same. Really don't want them to have a Christmas day birthday but trying to tell myself that it's not the end of the world if it us x

The statistic is something like only 4% of babies arrive on their due date so I have my fingers crossed for you that baby will come on a more convenient date ♥️

Hope your baby arrives few days early! I am due in early November but would have the same feelings if mine was due at Christmas time

I’m so relieved you’re all being lovely about it, I know it’s trivial in the grand scheme of things but I just don’t want them to have a birthday that’s overlooked every year 😅🤍

I feel the same! I don’t really want my baby to be born on Christmas Day or the 20th as that’s my birthday 😂

23rd is a great birthday. The kids count down to his birthday, then Christmas eve, them Christmas day, boxing day! Goes on forever 🤣. Whe he was younger he would have presents of some people and money from others, that way he had money to buy things later on in the year. Now he's a teenager his grandparents will combine the money for his birthday and Christmas to buy one expensive gift. He loves it x

I'm due Christmas eve, my toddler is starting nursery tomorrow so we'll obviously have him over Christmas break, but I want one last normal Christmas with him where I'm not dying from lack of sleep or actually going into labour, I'd much rather she came later x

this is pregnancy number 4 and 3 out of 4 have been close to christmas due dates and all of mine have come early, and this one is the closest due date to xmas so far so im destined for a xmas baby i think 😂😂 and a near xmas baby is not any fun lol!

I’m due 10th December & I worry if I go 2wks over will we have a Christmas baby 🙈 I’m hoping he follows suit with his mumma as I was due on Boxing Day but was a week early & arrived 18th December 😂🤞🏼xx

apparently there’s new guidelines out this week that say they don’t like you to go more than 41 weeks so you should be offered an induction no later than 41. Means you might share your birthday with little one 😍

@Ellie do you mind me asking where you are? Most places it's 41+0 which is current NICE guidance. I'm not saying you're not correct, I'm just worried I've missed a pretty significant guideline change and have been telling my women the wrong thing!

Also, I'm due the 15th and there is not a chance that this little man is staying in there past the 20th! Christmas day deliveries are so lovely but I'm not sure how I'd feel if I was the one in labour instead of the one looking after the women in labour!
My hospital has big santa stockings and little Christmas pudding knitted hats for the Christmas babies! Soooo cute!

Due 27th… my sister in law is desperate for a christmas baby but I just don’t want it. I have a friend who is 21st december and she says that is bad enough 🤦♀️ Also i’d like to enjoy my dinner 😂 but yes totally outside our control

I'm due the 16th December and I'm really worried baby will be born on Christmas day if they're late.
We almost didn't try in March to avoid a Christmas birthday. But then I think about who we might have missed out on if we didn't. And we didn't want to wait any longer as we didn't know how long it would take to conceive.
I still feel a bit guilty that they won't have two separate things to look forward to. But we're just so grateful baby is happy and healthy and we can always treat them to something special around May time.

I’m Staffordshire based, it was mentioned at an antenatal class yesterday. Apparently for uncomplicated pregnancies they used to let you go to potentially 42 weeks before inducing but they don’t like to do that anymore as there’s apparently evidence regarding how well the placenta works after 42 weeks? Hoping I heard that right now 😂
I feel like I wouldn’t mind Boxing Day onwards 😂 and both my partner and my family are pretty big on Christmas so I just feel like it would be a nightmare trying to navigate visitors if we were home with our little bundle on Christmas Day 🙈🙈

That's right about the 42 weeks but it was the induction recommendation at 40+1 that puzzled me. Over the years (god that makes me sound old) I've seen it go from 41 to 41+3 to 42, back to 41+3 and now 41 but never below 41 weeks. X

oh no way! I didn’t know that!
I don’t really want to share my birthday though 🙈😂

That would be my baby brain 😂 I meant 41 weeks. I’ve edited my previous post as to not confuse any other mummas 😂🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ xx

Yes! Im the 17th and most babies are like a week overdue so that puts me at Xmas eve! It is a looming thought but I’m really trying not to let it worry me at all! Xx
