@Lauren I’ve read so much online and now I’m wondering if it’s that! We use nuby for out and about and don’t think he has issues with the nuby! We’re going to do a 2 week trial on the CMA formula but still using prep machine at home and we’re see if any improvement if not I’ll go back to trying my old formula without using Tommee tippee prep!
Hey! So I was originally making my little girls bottle with a kettle, it was getting too much so I brought a prep machine, she started having bad reflux, being unsettled, trapped wind and constipation. My health visitor came to see me and when I said I use a prep machine she advised me to try and go back to using a kettle because the prep machines don’t put enough boiling water in for the amount of formula so can cause issues. With that being said my girl is also on prescribed milk for CMA but making it with the kettle has made HELL of a difference, I’m now selling my prep machine and she’s a lot lot happier! X
It’s been a positive experience with it for us, my boy used to have really unsettled 6-9pm evenings prior to using it but now we’ve switched to the prep machine he is never unsettled after feeds and the suspected colic has gone. Think it’s all trial and error which drives all of us mad I’m sure x
@Beck sorry me being thick!!! When you say you make it with a kettle what do you mean? I’ve only ever used prep machine! Do you mean boil kettle and let it cool? Doesn’t that take such a long time xx
@Tina yes so boil a kettle, let it cool for 30mins then make the bottle, it is hell of a lot longer however depending what CMA milk your on you can pre-make bottles and put them in the fridge for 24-hours so what I do in a morning is boil the kettle, let it cook for 30 mins and make the bottles for the day then at feed time or just before I just warm the bottle up with hot water in a jug😊 but my little one is on nutriamigen milk so just check the packaging and see if it says you can store it in the fridge xxx
We had this issue with the prep machine and stopped using it! We noticed a different straight away and just use the nuby rapid cool for all feeds now! X
We’re currently wonder whether the prep machine is causing colic for our LO. Not quite the same issue but we’re ruling it out by using a different method for a few days, Nuby/ready mades.
