Anxiety!

I’m booked on a baby massage class starting tomorrow and I’m dreading it! My anxiety is taking over.

I dread taking my little girl to any groups or classes as I’m always start on my own and no one talks to me even if I try to engage in a conversation

Please tell me I’m not alone… I feel so guilty

Are you doing the groups to make mum friends? If not, you don’t have to bother trying to make conversation just enjoy the session with your baby.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I never did any baby classes with my first and I won’t with my second. Anything I went to, like a soft play or play group, I went with mums I already knew. I can’t stand the idea of making friends with someone I have nothing else in common with other than being a mum.

If you’re trying to make friends, obviously continue to chat. What’s the worst that could happen?

I started baby massage last week and was so nervous! But you will be so focussed on your baby and learning all the techniques that it will fly by. It is lovely for the babies to start interacting with each other too.

I went to one yesterday and everyone kind of kept to themselves and we barely interacted with each other. We were more focussed on the instructor and the class itself! X

I went to a baby sensory class the other day and just spoke to my baby instead of the mums 😂 I was super nervous about going on my own but felt at ease when I was there, I spoke a little to 2 of the mums but not a full conversation. Just enjoy the session with your baby you’ll be okay mama 🥰

Normally the baby next to you will do something silly or yours will, then you’ll end up laughing / chatting with the mum next to you!

Safest questions are how old are they, what’s their name. Mums love talking about their babies so it’s easy to make conversation!

Neck baby

My baby has had this rash/stork bite since she was born. She’s now 5 months old, how long until this goes?
Thank you

What level of clean is an appropriate expectation for a SAHM?

1 child, 1 nap per day (45 min - 3 hours)

Just wondering

Are there any moms whose husbands think being a stay-at-home mom is a breeze, something they could do easily all day? Do they feel it's not tough, that you shouldn't have problems like they do, or that having a baby is simple, just because they chat with other women who say they want another kid and it didn't hurt at all, or that pregnancy doesn't mess with your body, I'm just curious and trying to understand.

This is not mommy related but I need some help

My husband cooks on many stoves at once on high flame - we have a small house with no exhaust fans - so it tends to result in lots of smoke in the house , the fire alarm going off many times and also me and our 2 year old som coughing and also our 2 year old old son’s room overheating as it’s directly above the kitchen

My husband likes to get in and out of thr kitchen as fast as possible - if you see him cooking - it looks like he’s in a rush (but that’s just how he operates , nobody is rushing him)

Anyways this is something I’ve spoken to him about multiple times and even in the current moment if we’re coughing he says he cant turn the stove down or turn off anything because certain foods (like the way he prepares salmon or steak has to be on a high flame. )

I’m just trying to figure out how to survive this because I dread most times when he prepares dinner (which is mostly Sundays ) - I’ve started planning to be away with friends that time but that’s not always sustainable - but trying to see what else I could do in the interim.

I will remind him to keep stoves as low as possible , or ask not to use so many burners at the same time

I’ll ask him to open windows (our kitchen window broke and can’t stay opened much - so we half open the door instead )

But trying to see what else I can do -because each time he cooks I’m annoyed and he’s annoyed with me telling him these things.

You would think my husband has selfish tendencies but his mom operates the same way - she cooks high flame multiple pots on at the same time with all windows closed - so that’s what he’s used to. But just trying to see what’s best for our family

Being a boy Mam really isnt for the weak

I know I have both genders for children. BUT being a Mam to my son is hard and frustrating, like I remind him everytime he goes to the toilet to point his Willy down because well he pisses all over the seat and even on the floor (he sits on the toilet been trying to get him to go like a "normal boy" But he won't even go for bush wees when we try and get him to but will hold it till he gets to a toilet)

My daughter is 19 months so I'll be potty training her in the next year and of course I don't know what that's gonna be like but yeah honestly being a Mam to a boy just isn't for the weak 😂

Tips for giving slippery finger foods!

My 6m baby is obsessed with red bell pepper. But after I have removed the skin and steamed it, its super slippery. He gets frustrated trying to hold onto it. I think ive seen you can put ground flax seeds on things to help with grip. But is that actually safe??
