I’m exactly 37 weeks and officially started mat leave today and….I’m so bored!! What am I supposed to do with my days now?! I couldn’t wait to finish work but now the realisation that it could be 4 weeks before baby comes is so daunting. I don’t have anybody to meet and everything is already set up for baby’s arrival 😬

I’m having the same worry.. any suggestions from anyone would be great x

I've been feeling the same, I finished earlier because my health was worse at work. So I've been trying to find things to do, whilst "resting". I'm quite arts/craft oriented, so I've decide to take on one of the many drawing challenges on Pinterest. It keeps my mind busy whilst also keeping me sitting and not pushing myself too far.
I did one during lockdown for similar boredom reasons. I started off with not much talent, but found by just doodling daily for a month helped me build my drawing skills. You don't have to put in loads of effort or have lots of resources - I started with just pen and paper and doodle for 10 mins.
Not sure if it's something you guys would be interested in but just thought I would share in case it helps. Plus gives you a little something to do everyday.

Same! I've been of for two weeks & in the first week I actually cried from boredom 😅 I'm a a&e nurse so sitting around all day... just isn't me lol, it gets easier though, by week 2 I'd planned meet ups, hair appointments, dentist, lashes, pedicure, whatever takes your fancy, now I'm being induced next week so time will fly xx

I started mine at 29 weeks so it’s been really difficult, catch up on jobs if you feel physically able - all those bits you have wanted to do. Prep for baby. Read. Watch Tv, relax, self care. Walk. Sleep. Just all the things you wish you could do if you got a few days off work! X

Prep and freeze meals, you’ll thank yourself after!!

Swimming!!! 🏊♀️

I’ve been cleaning, cooking, baking, sorting the baby’s stuff out. Been binging Topboy on Netflix too 😂

I finish work tomorrow 😍🎉
I plan to do freezer meal prep for when baby arrives, potter around the house and garden doing house work bits, catch up with some reading and finish my hypnobirthing course.
I am so excited to rest and take it easy

This is my first week of mat leave and I've been in hospital this week due to a chest infection. I feel so rubbish and I have this really strong urge to get all his stuff in order . But I've really not got enough strength to get it all fo at the mo ☹️

Very envious of you! Cleaning, go swimming, walks, watch netflix, meal prepping for when baby is here, take yourself out for a cup of tea, read, listen to podcasts and most importantly sleep as much as you can!!!!!

Maybe try to meet some future mum in here.
Antenatal classes

Are you doing the course online ? Or where ? Would you recommend ot ?

yep it’s online through The Positive Birth Company. I’m not that far into it but it seems good so far! They have an offer on so I got the postpartum one too as it was buy one get one free 😁
