Doula pros and cons?

I am pro doula! I used Julia from Little Blessings Doula https://juliaunderwood.com/

PROS:
-offers a birthing class prior to giving birth
-can give valuable advice that your OB may not provide (but would agree with). For example when my blood pressure was really high she had me start taking magnesium supplements and drinking Liquid IV and I avoided getting preeclampsia
-it was important to me to get her blessing to get the epidural because I wanted to time it right and she was so nice about it and told me not to suffer and just get it
-she was there for the birth and supported us and helped us ask doctors questions and know what was going on. She also taught me how to push!
-she helped my baby latch immediately after birth
-she was a better lactation consultant than the one in the hospital
-she checked on me a couple times at my home after the birth
-I didn’t utilize, but she offered spending the night after birth to help with the baby at additional cost

Con is it is costly.

But it was worth it because now I have all that knowledge I gained for my next pregnancy!
